New Revised Saudi Textbooks Still Teach Hate

In Christian Sunday School the lesson is from the New Testament in the vast majority of cases and that is why it is called Christian Sunday School. No where in the New Testament do you find Jesus demanding the slaughter of men, women, and children in his name pagan or otherwise.
The Church of Christ is the only denomination that is only New Testament oriented.

All of the others, Baptist, Southern Baptist,, Assembly of God, Full Gospel, non Denominational, etc. They all teach out of both the Old Testament and the New Testament. I personally have taught Sunday School. And we always taught out of the whole Bible.

Sunni Man is right on this one. I too used to teach Sunday School in a baptist church (filled in for my dad who actually belived it to some degree) and I followed the lesson plan which covered a bunch of old testament goings on.

I think we should be appalled if any textbook intended for school children was teaching hate, no matter what country it's in.

Anyway, going by what I've read in Aryan Hirsi Ali's bio, I think this is quite mild.

Aryan Hirsi Ali is a proven lier and a fraud. She was kicked out of Denmark because of her made up stories to enter the country. Her credibility has been totally destroyed.

You've already said that and you were already shown to be wrong. Why continue trolling?

You'd expect people to get such basic facts right, but hey. As you can discover on Wikipedia, Miss Ali was not, infact, kicked out of Denmark. Nor, for that matter, was she kicked out of Holland, where she actually applied for residency, and successfully got it. She still has Dutch citizenship, actually, along with her Dutch Passport.

Anyway, does this textbook teach hatred towards Jews? Yes. End of conversation. It's a disgusting textbook, and we should be ashamed that in 2008 countries are still indoctrinating their children with this trash.

Post #14 explains the teaching of the Quran on this subject. As a Muslin I accept what the Quran says.

I personally have No love for unbelievers.

Why should I?

Their only destination is Hell

So why not send them there faster, eh? Thank you for showing your true colors.

Ali has not been "kicked out of Denmark".

And it is "Ayaan", not "Aryan".

Previously you argued that this was a mistranslation, because sometimes people mistranslate the Q'uran to claim it says hateful things. Now you're arguing that we're not taking the context into account, and that hateful statements should be excused because they're dealing with "historical" texts. Your arguments seem to contradict each other. And you remain notably silent about your own views on the subject of whether believers can love nonbelievers or not.

And if that does not help, blame culture! You know, that dubious thing you can easily detach from Islam and especially muslims! :)

I've said before that freedom of speech is a good thing because it makes it easier to spot the idiots.

I need to add to that. Freedom of speech is also a good thing because it makes it easier to spot the people who want to kill you.

We should welcome these textbooks. We should have them printed by the millions and put into every classroom in every American school.

Everybody urge to be tolerant to each other.
What it means in practice?
I hate you – you hate me but on verbal level I correct with you and you correct with me.

It is much more effective system when people love each other and have friendship relationship with each other.
But we can be friends only if we will know religious and culture of each other.

That’s why I propose to all people to be the people of 4 world religious Judaic, Buddhism, Christianity and Islam.

My god, this is a skeptic's forum, and just look at the arguments I'm getting! I point out simply that it is possible that the word "hate", as translated in English from a Saudi religious textbook, may have other connotations or meanings in the original text that are not accurately represented in the translation. What kind of responses do I get?

I am neither knowledgeable nor opinionated enough to properly contribute to this thread, but I find myself in total agreement with the above.

My Hindu and atheist friends would take issue with that.

I don’t want to forbid them to be what they are, but the common culture base code is in Tanah, Buddhist Tractate, New Testament and Koran.
They are Holy books of 5 billions people, and I want to put the end of war between them.
The same way as Christians have added New Testament to Tanah to get Christian Bible we have add to this Holy Book Tripitaha of only Buddha Students and Koran.

Why do you hate Wiccans? And Zoroastrians, and Shintoist, and Animists, and... ...and atheists, and agnostics

I don’t hate any others legal religiousness, I don’t hate different religion design and implementation in different legal religious sects.
In the limit every man has to design and implement his personal religion of his free individuality.

But common base of all those have to be FOUR WORLD RELIGIOUSE’S FOUR HOLY BOOKS reading regularly minimum once a week - one year – one Holy Book all life long.

Hands up who has actually been to saudi. I have, twice.

It is one of the most strict countries I have ever been in right enough. But not everyone is like that. A lot of them hate the ruling families. A lot of them are very friendly to westerners. It is far more westernised than it was years ago. Some of them are the most arrogant people I have ever encountered but some of them are amongst the nicest I have ever encountered.

The generalisation and stereotyping in this thread is ridiculous.

I could say that all american christians are gay haters and scumbags because I saw a program about the westboro baptist church. This type of ignorance about muslim countries has been on the increase since 911 and it is exactly what a lot of the radicals want.

I am an atheist but have had christian morons screaming at me in the street in glasgow because I do not let jesus into my life therefore I am a sinner who should be cast into the fiery pits of hell. I have also had an egyptian muslim tell me I was going to be "judged" come the time for my sins?

. Uh, noYou are clueless about the world's religious variety.

I read regularly Tanah, Tripitaha, New Testament and Koran.
This common culture code is good base for my personal religion construction.
