New Disclosures on Benghazi

It's going to be interesting to see how the Obama administration handles this. I can see two obvious routes: Sacrifice someone to appease the tards, or let the tards keep digging their hole until the American public grow tired of them.

If anyone thinks that the way this memo evolved is in any way shocking or unusual or new for Washington, I can only shake my head sadly at their naïveté.

The only reason it's an issue this particular time is that the Republicans are seeking anything they possibly can to use against the current president politically, regardless of its validity.

The part where the memo doesn't include any lies, and certainly doesn't deserve to be the subject of repeated Congressional hearings.

But they had to have hearings on SOMEthing. Issa has been promising to investigate the Democrats for anything and everything since 2010.

And remember, applecorped, that all the revisions up to and including 6:52 PM on the 14th were made internally by the CIA before the interagency meeting.
I think this has yet to be addressed by anyone other than those who don't think the issue merits the attention given it by the presidents detractors.

Yes, he has.

California Rep. Darrell Issa is already eyeing a massive expansion of oversight for next year, including hundreds of hearings; creating new subcommittees; and launching fresh investigations into the bank bailout, the stimulus and, potentially, health care reform.

Issa told POLITICO in an interview that he wants each of his seven subcommittees to hold “one or two hearings each week.”

“I want seven hearings a week, times 40 weeks,” Issa said.

Issa is also targeting some ambitious up-and-comers like Reps. Jason Chaffetz of Utah, Patrick McHenry of North Carolina and Jim Jordan of Ohio — all aggressive partisans — to chair some of his subcommittees.

He also wants to organize aggressive oversight beyond his committee and plans to refer inquiries to other House panels, drawing even more incoming GOP chairmen to the cause of investigating the executive branch.

Taxpayers deserve better than this.

Interesting thread with some great facts presented.

A little off topic but have you ever watched one of those threads where someone was just sure they are blowing away all opposition and making them look like fools in front of what they are sure is an excited growing crowd, when the reality is the crowd is growing, but only because they can't believe how badly the guy is getting it handed to him and how completely clueless he is that he is the one the laughter is directed at?
Kinda like a BaC thread?
Not sure why I brought that up it was just something that was going through my mind recently while doing some reading.
Anyway, back to the thread. Sport.

You know, I have not seen one of those threads. I've seen a thread when a major news source released a major development like... hell... 12 different drafts of the the Administration's talking points leading being fraudulently manipulated for political purposes. I've got a link, sport.

New details from Obama administration emails about last year's attack on the U.S. compound in Benghazi, Libya, demonstrate that an intense bureaucratic clash took place between the State Department and the CIA over which agency would get to tell the story of how the tragedy unfolded.

That clash played out in the development of administration talking points that have been at the center of the controversy over its handling of the incident, according to the emails that came to light Friday.

Say, Ausmerican, you have any *********** questions?

lolz

Yes. Thank you.

In that case I apologize for that post. I have maintained that my own opinion that the narrative was changed for political reason from my first post on the matter. My very first post on this issue was here in this thread. I simply didn't know enough to have an opinion but the latest revelations have pointed me to the opinion that Obama knowingly lied about what he knew and when he knew it.

My opinion on the possible motive have always been stated as being to alter public opinion on the administrations failures and actions regarding what happened on Benghazi in order to win an election. Nothing more. For evidence of this are my observations that:

a) Obama slammed Romney on his statements of not being adept at foreign policy even though Romneys statement were closer to reality than Obamas. (done)

b) The State Dept. and White House altered the CIA assessment (12 times) to keep the state dept. from getting hit by calls of incompetence. (done)

c) It allowed the administration to point at a right wing video (and to subtly lay the blame at the right wing as a whole) as the cause of the attacks while shunting any reference of AQ away from it. (done)

The combined total of these can be seen as lying to the voters less than two months before an election in order to win an election. The American public in general hates a cheater that wins (see Lance Armstrong for a recent example). There is going to be 47% that will feel like their vote was taken away from them and another unknowable number of swing voters that feel the same way due to their not knowing what was going on and relying on the president to give them accurate information.

Bill Clinton got impeached by saying "I did not have sex with that woman" and repeating it over and over again in some form. His whole scandal was started by that one statement. Obamas scandal will be about his saying that the video was the cause of the attacks as he did repeatedly in some form for almost 2 weeks.

Impeachable? I don't think so although the House may go through with the political theater causing limitations on what he can do. Keeping Hillary from running in 2016? Absolutely as this happened under her watch with her people doing the dirty work.

The new york times has an article where they interviewed fighters on the ground who claimed they were there because of the video.

And of course nobody would never ever exploit a situation to keep themselves from looking not innocent. Ever. I mean intentionally killing a US Diplomat might be a death sentence but if just being a protester might only get a $100 ticket it might work. Why not try that first?

Aww screw that. GITMO sounds like a vacation spot. Cuba and sun? Hell yeah!Lets go!
