My Telepathic Abilities

I propose a new category of individuals claiming mind-to-mind communicative abilities: telepathetics.

There is a funny story about my nephew and "telepathetic".

My sister was telling him she knew what he did at school because she was telepathic. My nephew responded. "I wonder if I can read my own mind. Hmmmm... Hmmmmmm. Hmmmmm. No nothing. I must be telepathetic. I can't read my own mind."

We still tease him about it. LOL

im still ****in telepath. And im always like a sun bright in my third eye, and stuff, im goin crazy, cause cant stop that easily, so addictive

Have you performed the tests I suggested, Vytautas? What were the results?

Regardless of the outcome of said tests, I strongly suggest you immediately see a doctor.

I'm not trying to put you down, Vytautas. Please see a doctor and make sure you're not in any danger.

I'm wondering, from the examples he has given, if he doesn't suffer from a minor mental flaw that causes him to vocalize his thoughts without being aware of doing so. There's a name for that condition, I'm sure, but I don't know it.

It would explain so much!

My wife says I have a tendancy to do this sometimes, especially when I'm really busy or distracted. Without realizing I'm speaking at all, I vocalize various random thoughts...

Just wondering.
Tourette's Syndrome

Could just be subvocalization, where people mumble without realizing it. I heard my friend doing that when we were waiting for a doctor at the emergency room.

Not something I've ever done, not even when reading (which is when some do it).

Yeah, but considering the apparant profile of the OP, I guess an actual diagnosis in not a bad bet ;).

It's fairly obvious by the blanket stating of unsupported fact that this person is either:

1) Getting a rise out of us. Which obviously worked due to the many responses.

2) Is in dire need of psychological help.

Your post counts as a response, too. Thanks for playing. Do not pass "Go". Do not collect $200.

Im back!!

Guys im back!!! so missed you... and so tired of ****** telepathy ****.
im cured. i drink antipsychotics all the time and im cured. BUT THE TELEPATHY IS STILL THERE. all the time... i just want to be normal again. please:)

Well, welcome back, Vytautus....

But what are you cured of? We don't actually know much of your story other than the fact that you dropped by three years ago claiming telepathic abilities. Were there other, more serious, issues?

Most of us think that sort of thing is delusional and if you are "cured", we'd be thinking that you were cured by your anti-psychotics from believing in your telepathic abilities, yet you say that you're still a telpath?

You do recall that you never actually prooved to the JREF Forums that you had any sort of telepathic abilities whatsoever, don't you? The thread is there for the reading (as I just read it through for the first time, myself).

I certainly don't intend to make light of anyone suffering from mental health problems and seeing a psychiatrist who's prescribing major league medication. Why don't you forget about this telepathy stuff and cruise around the rest of the forums for a bit?

I have been thinking. Do we have a case of Tourette's syndrome here? If this guy is a compulsive vocalizer, then yes, people hear his thoughts. I don't know how conscious TS sufferers are about their vocalizing, but anyone might be in denial about it. Add to the case that in China, any handicap is basically considered shameful, so his surroundings may be using euphemisms as 'whenever you are in the room, we hear a mystrical voice telling your thoughts'.

I don't know about the 'naked figure' but that could be pure fantasy. Unfortunately, having one disorder (like TS) does not exclude that you may have others as well.
