This is why her handlers "made a fuss". If it was a regionalism, there wouldn't be a problem.

Still, maybe her speechwriters are elitists, what with their swanky college pronunciation and not eating raw moose blubber.

If you are going to judge somebody's intelligence because they mispronounce a single word, I think that qualifies as intellectual snob.
Palin is a idiot, but using her mispronounciation of a word,something a lot of people do, as proof is pretty weak, particularly when there is so much stronger stuff around.
