Cont: Musk buys Twitter II

i think shifting his stance from free speech absolutist to merely free speech liker is notable.
i mean, i like it too, doesn't mean it can't be infringed on here and there if you can make a few bucks or silence an enemy. much more honest take from musk on free speech

Elon says he likes free speech.

If I said that I like big butts and assured you that I cannot lie about this, but then get a girlfriend who is skinny as a rail and even eventually marry her, what does that imply about my previous statement?

Ol' Musky's dedication to free speech on Xitter can be summed up by the auto-censoring of the word 'Cisgender'.

Being another brother I can't deny.

That you also like skinny butts, or your Missus has other qualities that outrank her lack of a big butt?

The appropriate thing here would be to bring up Galaxy Brain's actual actions when free speech matters have involved his company. Musk has actively censored opponents of dictatorial regimes on Twitter at the behest of those opponents.

Precisely.

Elon can say that he "likes free speech", and it might even be true; but his actions whilst running Twitter make it clear that his like is not exclusive. There are definitely some situations in which he feels that the outcomes of censoring or suppressing speech outweigh the benefits of preserving free speech on principle.

Is "Adrian Dittmann" an alternative account of Elon Musk? Or is there some weird thing where he is a different person pretending to be someone who might be Musk?

Anyway, whoever he is, he is taking Elon Musk's side against Destiny who has been making edgelord comments about the Trump shooting.

The extremely rich rarely lack sycophants and people trying to satisfy them so they can take advantage of them to some end, so I'm not sure that just assuming an account being sycophantic is an alternative account is ever wise.

With that said, it's entirely possible that that's an alternative account for Elon, as some claim. I just have no idea based on the limited information available and honestly, I don't really care. There are plenty of actually meaningful things to knock him for and that would be just a little thing that doesn't really change anything, I think.

He has some Twitter Spaces where you can hear him talk. His voice is uncannily similar, but I think it might just be an affectation of a cult follower. He seems to also use the Royal Plural when talking about Elon Musk's decisions. "We cannot allow such things on the platform" but other people interacting with him refer to Elon Musk in the third person.

btw i think it really sucks that this idiot gets to donate, what, $200M to a political campaign no questions asked. why is that allowed? is that free speech? the guy with the most money gets to speak the loudest?

i can’t believe anyone falls for this douche bags schtick, total suckers. there’s too many of you falling for billionaires scamming and lying right to your faces. you have to stop.

Yeah, isn’t this the result of “citizens united” or whatever it was called? And isn’t that the reason for PACs to circumvent some flimsy rules on donations?

yeah it’s supposed to be some shady technicality through shell companies or something like that. now it’s just this one guy, a foreigner at that, donates $45M a month openly no problem. can anyone else remember something like this?
