Cont: Musk buys Twitter II

Elon Musk railed against a British tech who ridiculed his idea to rescue the cave children. Accusations of sexual misconduct are rife and lamentable in a language driven race of terrible actors right to the Supreme courts in all principalities
.Musk is a paragon of virtue by comparison.

he's a paragon of virtue by comparison to the guy that makes false accusations of sexual misconduct in retaliation for being embarassed he had a dumb idea after inserting himself into a topic he knew nothing about. oh, that's the same guy.

and this is the good guy saving humanity by the way, the bad guys being everyone who doesn't want to eradicate the trans.

No, calling someone a paedophile is not rife, its the act of a bit of a bellend, a cockwomble butthurt because his idea WAS ridiculous and wouldn't work, and that diver had the temerity to tell him so and bruise the little man's ego.

You are right about one thing, its lamentable.

But its not something normal people do, Samson.
Its not something a paragon of virtue does.

Its the act of a complete and utter ****. A little man. A man who believes he should be worshipped, whose every act is justified, who thinks he is a saviour.

A little man who lashes out irrationally when rejected, as we have seen time and time again in his behaviour. May I remind you of the "Advertisers, go **** yourself" statement.

That you still support that little man after that tells us, unfortunately, all we need to know about you.

I think this reduces to
1. The world we live in would be better if Churchill had not been born.
2. The world we live in would be better if Musk had not been born.

A strange reduction, to be sure, and one that sure looks like it's moving the goal posts extremely far from where it had been.

"Elon Musk’s social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, has begun restricting accounts for using the terms “cis” and “cisgender,” labeling them as slurs. According to the Independent, users attempting to post these terms now receive warnings stating that they may be considered slurs and could be used in violation of X’s rules."

One of these days someone (maybe me? ) should review the thread and create a succinct list of the many times that the supposed champion of free speech suppressed (or tried to suppress) free speech.

You kids are not following history.
Winston Churchill was arguably the.most important.player that affords you the leisure to discuss these matters.
Elon Musk is just another Winstone Churchill. I love the discourse, don't get me wrong.
What is this gibberish?

What are you blathering on about now?

No-one is saying either of those things, although Musk certainly hasn't been a net positive.

I find people like Michael Shellenberger worth listening to.
He is a supporter of Elon Musk and his purchase of X

You made it sound exactly like you like Michael Shellenberger BECAUSE he is a supporter of Musk and his purchase of X. Bias confirmation, not rationality or concern for truth and principle.

This is pretty much a Trumpian thing.

"I like X, he says a lot of good things about me..."

This is a cult of personality.

Look, I have said before that I like Musk's EVs and rockets, and I will also disagree with those who say that Elon Musk did nothing to push the technology forward. I think he did. But the idea that someone is good because they brown-nose to him, is pretty disgusting. Stop deifying him.

Normal people can look at the achievements of someone and say, "Yes, he did well there", but it is abnormal to start saying that someone is good because they kiss the ground of your hero.
