And you have made it clear this is because you celebrate those that agree with you on some medical treatments for trans children, and that is your singular focus. What happened to your claim (and supposedly Musk's claim) that Microsoft polices personal views? Either you left something out, or more likely, as I predicted, you embellished based on your fevered imagination.

I have news for you and Elon. Regardless if you create a Microsoft account, Microsoft has access to your computer every time you install a windows update.

Also, I hope you took note of catsmate's post explaining that Gates <> Microsoft. I realize that Gates is demonized by the right-wing nutjobs you consume. But really, you should acquaint yourself with reality before you smear people.

Add: Ironically, you're also denigrating Musk when you assign these unhinged concepts to him. (He's already sufficiently unhinged without your embellishments.)

Microsoft has been trying to get people to login with outlook\hotmail, etc accounts for a long while. At least a few years.

If I were Elon and didn't know how to setup a local account on a computer I'd be embarrassed. I certainly wouldn't make an ass out of myself on Twitter over it. Especially since it's pretty clear through the process of setting up a new computer that you don't have to have a microsoft account.

Common sense would even dictate that Microsoft isn't going to require every business that uses Microsoft PCs to have every single employee make a Microsoft account just to monitor their computers. It would cost Microsoft million to do that. It would also make Active Directory mostly useless, which is their cash cow.

The fact Musk didn't even take two seconds to think about why it would be stupid to force everyone that uses a Windows PC to create\use a microsoft account says a lot about his tech knowledge.

Microsoft has made it rather difficult to set up a new PC under Windows (for home versions) without an account. One way to do it is to disconnect the network during setup. But it's really pushy about creating an account.

Common sense would even dictate that Microsoft isn't going to require every business that uses Microsoft PCs to have every single employee make a Microsoft account just to monitor their computers. Indeed, the business editions of Windows are geared toward using Active Directory, and are usually set up by I/T shops prior to sending the computer to the end user.

Also, one can wipe Windows and run Linux instead. :)
