I still really hope the Democrats have put all their hope into the Mueller probe and have some sort of at least vague plan that isn't just "what we hope will happen" in place if the Mueller probe turns out to not be the bombshell they think and hope it will be.

I'd wager the Republicans are more ready for a post "Mueller probe literally mathematically proves that Trump is a reptilian alien overlord" then the Democrats are for a "Mueller probe that doesn't completely leave Trump and every single member of his inner circle with zero way out."

Seems that the judiciary committee is doing some serious work, if today's news is any indications. They have a lot of ground to cover, as they are at essentially square 1 thanks to total abdication of duty by during the two years of Republican control.

Again I understand how much effort the Democrats are putting into laying the ground for "If we lose it's totally not our fault because the Republicans are playing dirty."

Just... a win would be better.

I actively discourage students who express an interest in becoming lawyers. "If it's your dream, then you should pursue your dream. But if you're doing it because you figure it'll be fun and most lawyers are rich, think again. If you can get into a top 14 program, go for it, but that profession is feast or famine."

I've done well and had a good career but, as an engineer I had no grasp how big of a deal the highlighted is.

“Now that the Dems are going to try & switch from Collusion to some other reason, it makes them continue to look like sore losers who didn’t accept the WILL OF THE PEOPLE in the last election - they will do anything to get rid of the President.” @AriFleischer It will never work!

I don't think the distopia is quite that advanced.

No, but it is advanced.

I am seeing things Trump has done which simply would not have been tolerated even 10 years ago.

When was the last time America had a President who

- paid off multiple porn stars?
- openly advocated sexual assault?
- lies openly about anything and everything at an rate of over 90 lies per week?
- asked the DoJ to investigate/prosecute a political adversary?
- openly admitted to obstructing justice?
- openly admitted to asking a foreign power to steal a political opponent's communications?
- openly uses racial pejoratives?
- ignored and went against advice of his intelligence staff?
- openly praised white supremacists? (you have to go back to at least Jim Crow to find one of those)
- abused his political power?
- completely disregarded the constitution of the United States?

This sort of thing has become the "new normal". If all this is now normal, and apparently acceptable to the likes of the political right such as Meadows, Jordan, Geitz et al, what does he have to do before it becomes unacceptable? What is it going to take?

The will of the people in the last election was for control of the House to be in the hands of the Dems. Funny how for some only the election you win counts.

And in actual fact, the "will of the people" in the election he referred to was for Hilary Clinton to be president... by about 3 million votes. It was only the vagaries of the crooked Electoral College system that allowed him to be president.

That's not what he said. But let's be honest TBD, the electoral college is not Democratic.

As usual, a pathetic strawman from our canine right wing agitator

Nothing pathetic about it. You typed the words "crooked electoral college."

The electoral college is a creature of the United states constitution Article Two Clauses 1, 2 and 3.

By calling it crooked, you are calling the entire Constitutional system of electing the president "crooked" which is patently asinine.

Oh well....

There was no mention of a quid pro quo in the email Trump Jr received. The Trump team went to the meeting expecting to give nothing for the information, they gave nothing, and they left with nothing. No quid pro quo, no collusion.

The email stated that a Kremlin connected lawyer had damaging dirt on Hillary, offering it to help Trump. Taken at face value, in so many words, a foreign government offered campaign assistance. It's illegal to even *arrange a meeting* in this circumstance. No need to exchange anything. Act number one is to say, "No thanks." Act number two is to immediately inform the FBI.

This is like two or more guys getting together to plan a heist, or a hit. A crime has been committed before entering the bank or pulling the trigger. That's conspiracy, commonly called collusion.

You left out the word "so".

Bogative doesn't understand that a quid pro quo isn't necessary. And just because there isn't one detailed in the email, doesn't mean the Russians didn't discuss what Trump could do for them. The very fact that adoption was supposedly discussed certainly suggests they discussed sanctions.
