That is a good question and to answer, I was not terribly surprised given the vast number of straw man posts that he issues.

In this case, I was only surprised at just incredibly big his straw man post was.

Ty Cobb calls Mueller 'American hero,' says probe is no witch hunt

Ty Cobb, the veteran Washington attorney who represented the White House as special counsel Robert Mueller ramped up his investigation into Russian meddling, said he considers the man leading the probe “an American hero” and does not share President Donald Trump’s view that the Russia inquiry is a politically motivated hoax.

“I don't feel the same way about Mueller,” Cobb said in an extensive interview for the latest episode of ABC News' podcast The Investigation. “I don't feel the investigation is a witch hunt.”

But as Mueller prepares to convey his findings to the U.S. Attorney General, Cobb maintains a belief that his report will spare the president from any serious political harm. Cobb said he believes Mueller has already revealed the bulk of the findings that the investigation will produce through the sentencing memos and “speaking indictments” issued against a group of 34 defendants that include Russian hackers and the former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort. A so-called speaking indictment sets forth more contextual details on a case than is required by law.

The indictment against the Russian hackers was “highly detailed,” he said. “And there's no link to Trump or the campaign. The same thing with Manafort -- they just filed an 800-page sentencing memorandum, and in 800 pages there's no reference to collusion,” Cobb said, referring to Manafort, who was convicted last year of tax and bank fraud charges and pleaded guilty in a separate case to conspiracy charges brought by Mueller as part of his probe.

The Electoral College was the result of a negotiation. A stupid compromise. People did not care much how the president was elected because the first president's victory was inevitable, and it was believed the Constitution could later be changed.

Another stupid compromise: Counting slaves as three-fifths of a person.

Another stupid compromise: Allowing the slave trade to continue for 20 more years.

Another stupid compromise: All states getting two senators.

Another stupid compromise: Prohibiting anyone to change the above two compromises, even by Constitutional amendment.
 
Everyone who studied the history of the EC agrees that it was undermined almost instantly by partisan politics.
The current EC isn't anything like what the Founding Fathers had in mind.
It's what they had to settle with.
 
That's a funny comment about the US constitution being crooked. Didn't the President tweet that for people to consider the 25th Amendment was "unconstitutional" or some nonsense?

If you narrow the discussion down to who did the hacking, I think the Russians did that all on their own. If you expand that to the Trump campaign conspiring with Russia, it's unlikely Trump left a trail of his involvement even though he's clearly involved in giving Putin the rewards. I may though be giving Trump too much credit here.

But when you look into the financial crimes, I'm guessing a lot of those can be pinned directly on Trump.

But U.S. voters are divided 45 - 43 percent on whether Trump committed any crimes while he has been president...American voters believe Cohen more than Trump 50 - 35 percent. Cohen told the truth, 44 percent of voters say, while 36 percent say he did not tell the truth. Voters approve 41 - 36 percent of the way Democrats in Congress handled Cohen's testimony before the U.S. House Oversight Committee. Voters disapprove 51 - 25 percent of the way Republicans handled the Cohen hearing.

Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll [said] "When two-thirds of voters think you have committed a crime in your past life, and almost half of voters say it's a tossup over whether you committed a crime while in the Oval Office, confidence in your overall integrity is very shaky," Malloy added. Judge Jackson has Roger Stone and his team boxed in. She is aware that the First Amendment limits her ability to issue gag orders, and she acted carefully to ensure her orders would survive on appeal. As she notes in today's ruling, Stone likely waived any First Amendment claim.

Judge Jackson is still doing whatever she can to avoid hitting the First Amendment issue head on -- now by noting that Stone probably waived the issue by inviting an order on these terms (to stay out of jail).

Also: it would be difficult to exaggerate how bad this order is for Roger Stone.

Here's Mueller's reply to Manafort's sentencing memo in Virginia.

Says Manafort has not accepted responsibility, and doesn't buy his health concerns

Mueller says Manafort is relying on "a news article" for his health concerns. Has not "submitted a report from a medical practitioner or shown that the BOP is unable to treat his medical conditions."

Also cites ABJ not buying the health issues

Mueller says Manafort "also seems to contend that because he was not charged with additional offenses" — read, collusion — "that mitigates his crimes," but "it does not."

Mueller also wants to "rebut" Manafort's "claim" that, in his foreign work, "he sought only to promote democratic principles here and abroad"

Mueller again says they still aren't sure of "the full extent of Manafort's assets" because he's "failed to submit a financial statement" to either court (EDVA or DC)

Correction — Manafort's Virginia sentencing before Judge TS Ellis was moved to this Thursday. (ty @lrozen & @nether_p)

He'll be sentenced in DC, by Judge Amy Berman Jackson, on Wednesday of next week.
