Also, it appears the White House is now spending all of its time either composing, looking for, or retweeting already-disproven stuff or outright insults in a desperate attempt to counter the torrent of crap coming down the pipeline at them which they created. Are they actually going to spend any time and effort doing what they are supposedly there for? That is, presidenting? What are they paying these people to do!

You missed the most one interesting based on this. Max Boot because he's realized that Buckley and Goldwater were the poison tree that modern "libertarian" conservatism is based on. He's only one that has owned up to the fact that the thought leaders of "libertarian" conservatism are inextricably linked to segregation and through that white supremacy & extremism. His introspective writings have been as excellent as his current events pieces have been muddled due to this.

Wow, so many lies by now disgraced acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe. He was fired for lying, and now his story gets even more deranged. He and Rod Rosenstein, who was hired by Jeff Sessions (another beauty), look like they were planning a very illegal act, and got caught.....

....There is a lot of explaining to do to the millions of people who had just elected a president who they really like and who has done a great job for them with the Military, Vets, Economy and so much more. This was the illegal and treasonous “insurance policy” in full action!

William Barr’s Son-in-Law Just Landed a Job Advising Trump on “Legal Issues”

CNN reports that McGaughey, the husband of Barr’s youngest daughter, has been hired as an attorney in the White House counsel’s office, where he’ll “advise the president, the executive office, and White House staff on legal issues concerning the president and the presidency.” While the division is separate from the legal team that defends Trump in the Russia investigation—a group of leading lights that includes Rudy “maybe there was collusion” Giuliani—its work nevertheless does “intersect with the investigation.” (Trump reportedly blamed former White House counsel Don McGahn for failing to bring the probe to a close.) Meanwhile, Mary Daly, Barr’s oldest daughter, will be leaving her current job in the deputy attorney general’s office for a gig at the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), which has had its own Russian intrigues.

McCabe is accused of lying about releasing information about the Clinton Foundation investigation That story obviously hurt Clinton and helped Trump, but presumably he did it to counter accusations that he wasn't doing anything about the pay-for-play accusations, and then lied about it because that concern for his own reputation made him look bad.

We still don't know why Trump and his people told so many lies about their entanglements with Russia, but details are starting to fall into place. Right from the start, Trump has been in a panic because he knows what Mueller might be finding out.

It's not clear to me that he counts as a conservative any more. Does he still identify as a conservative or has he more or less renounced conservatism (rather than just the libertarian leaning conservatism)?
