Stone takes the Nixon pose while claiming innocence.

Very appropriate and telling.

Note that Stone was part of Nixon's corrupt practices as well.

Stone is such a vicious thug that the heavily armored FBI squad had to drag him out in front of convienntly placed CNN cameras, for process violations.

A few hours later out on bail.

CNN got their scalp.

But TBD is the bad guy.

Pro tip: attacking a poster based on made up claims in the quintessential dodge.

Once again, I see that you are following your usual pattern at work again in order to avoid the real issue.

First, Dodge the issue in question. And if that does not work (and it never does), then

Second, Pretend to be a victim in order to avoid the issue in question.

This from the guy who thinks the Catholic Church are the good guys as they protect pedophiles. The guy who thinks the inquisition and the crusades were justified.

The panic and desperation are palpable.

The FBI isn't any more the bad guy than local law enforcement sending swat after non violent marijuana dealerd (and actually knocking down doors, and using flashbangs). The new normal.

Your claim, your responsibility to provide evidence.

History.com's "on this day" for March 29 says that in 1973, U.S. withdraws from Vietnam
I gotta wonder just what the job was of the 7,000 "Defense Department civilian employees" left behind, but March 29, 1973 seems to be the standard date in terms of U.S. troops leaving Vietnam. The last Americans were flown out on April 30, 1975.

I don't know what McGovern could have done to accelerate U.S. troop withdrawal - it seems to have been put into motion soon after Nixon's second inauguration.

Sorry to add to a derail. I am curious about this but don't want to jack the thread.

You win. My timeline might be off. A President McGovern might not have been able to get U.S. combat troops out of Vietnam any earlier.

But the "peace" agreement provided that the North and South would continue the war, and the U.S.promised to continue to give extensive support to the South. The North ultimately crushed the South when the U.S. withdrew its support. Many thousands of Vietnamese died during that time, and many more died and suffered in the aftermath of the takeover. I think it's at least possible that McGovern could have negotiated a comprehensive agreement to actually end the war earlier and on better terms for the South and for Cambodia. Nothing could have been worse than what happened.

There's evidence that CNN caught the perp walk through good investigation, not leaks. Not saying that one should uncritically accept the evidence, but there's evidence.

Folks underestimate CNN's ability to stake places out speculatively

Seriously. They catch things literally nobody else ever could because they have a camera 24/7 outside some places that only have one door.

(They did this with the Trump tower lobby during the transition if you recall.)

Nothing quite like having to walk past a CNN camera to get to a secret meeting and getting a call from them afterwards with them asking how it went

Can confirm. May friend is a neighbor of Stone's and said CNN has had a truck out front of his house every Thursday - Saturday since the midterms.

He told CNN yesterday that he expected to be indicted. Shocking how CNN knew where and when to find him. Maybe he told them himself?

CNN can't get their stories straight, did they notice the activity through good journalism? Or were they staking out the residence?

False dichotomy. One can be considered the other. As in, the good journalism could have led them to staking out the residence.

Glad I could help.

There is nothing dichotomous about those two descriptions.

They may have had a van there over the most likely announcement periods and also have noticed the Grand Jury activity while getting ready for this week's stakeout with a mind to be extra alert.

Your feigned confusion over how this could be needs some work before you get that Oscar, though.
