CNN wanted the tape, obviously, and cnn is willing to do favors for when the mueller junta needs them.

It's worth noting that the legislation passed by the Congress and signed by the President provides that:

1/ Witness tampering is a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison, more if the witness is actually harmed. That goes a little beyond "process."

In Bellevue I've seen the FBI gather up some Bellevue police when preparing to serve an arrest warrant on a downtown apt. (Drugs or trafficking, can't recall who they were arresting.)

It is SOP when the FBI makes some arrests. As for asking Stone to turn himself in, then they couldn't serve a surprise search warrant.

This ginned up outrage is a distraction.

What faulty assumptions? I'm simply asking if you can make your theory sound rational, which would be the first step in making it sound plausible. But I'll admit I'm assuming you can't.

The faulty assumption that the FBI wanted to pull the stunt obviously.
 
And he's already out?

This makes me wonder if the arrest wasn't somewhat for show. As in, come down hard on him in order to send a message to still other associates.

Him being out already makes that seem slightly weird though.

ETA: I am not really very well-informed about the whole situation.

You're digging the hole deeper. Why would the FBI want to "feed the maw of the insatiable grifter media" with video of them "using gestapo tactics?" Unless you are suggesting that someone in the FBI wanted to feed the maw of the insatiable right-wing grifter media with gestapo-FBI video, it doesn't make much sense.

Reports say his other flat he has with a Madame was also raided - maybe it was mostly to get him incommunicado for a little while so they could search the place without warning.
