Fiend God
Pfft. My quote is closer to the real deal.
174/ Mueller tells Welch (D) that not establishing something *beyond a reasonable doubt* (the *highest standard of proof* in the criminal justice system) is quite simply a *totally different concept* from finding "no evidence" of something. This smashes a longstanding GOP canard.
Welch's 5 minutes were very good. Probably the best of anybody in the whole 5 hours so far.
Welch: Have we established a new normal that is going to apply to future campaigns, so that if any one of us ... aware that if a hostile foreign power is trying to influence an election, has no duty to report that?
Mueller: "I hope this is not the new normal, but I fear it is."
ETA: Did Mueller just say that the Presidents written answers were useless?
Wow >> Mueller says he didn’t subpoena the president “because of the necessity of expediting” the investigation.
The expectation was that Trump would fight the subpoena, Mueller said, and that would drag out the investigation.
178/ Mueller concedes that he *could* have subpoenaed the president. He concedes that it was "vital" to his investigation. He said he was balancing "how much evidence [he] had" of "corrupt intent [to obstruct]" against how much time it would take to interview Trump.
Well he certainly did just say that they were unhelpful and untruthful. Generally.
Mueller says that many aspects of FBI CURRENTLY looking into issues of Trump blackmail.
So...yeah then
I was certainly wrong. I change my opinion. I think this was a great idea for the Dems to bring him in.
181/ Mueller: Trump refused to answer some questions from federal law enforcement, gave multiple answers that contradicted other evidence, and refused to answer any follow-up questions.
Rep. Hurd is actually discussing the intelligence issues. Did he not get the GOP memo?
I was surprised in a good way.
Hurd is the only Republican that I thought seemed interested in the truth, rather than sloganeering.
Schiff asks if knowingly accepting foreign assistance in the midst of a presidential election is an "unethical thing to do."
MUELLER: "And a crime"
