For what it's worth, I don't think any witnesses are lying. People just remember things differently - even to the point of remembering things that didn't happen.

In these kinds of investigations, only the broader statements which all witnesses agree on are of any value, such as the fact that all of them saw an aircraft hit the pentagon.
