Mother Terisa gets there at last

The last gasp of a ferocious Hindi critic of Catholics, yawn.

Can't you folks find any other fellow travelers of St chris of the Pot, maybe Westboro Baptist? The KKK? The guy who writes chick tracts?

They all hate Saint Teresa of Calcutta too.

So says the resident Bill Donohue tribute band. If you're gonna ape someone's shtick, you might want to imitate something better.

So it seems. Extract from the ABC news:

Interesting, so it would seem churches could do their own thing in the past, canonizing to their hearts content. No wonder their are so many.

So let us ponder on this. What if a future Pontiff decides to de-canonize a heap of these dubious saints from the past? Whatever he looses on earth earth shall be loosed in heaven right? What will happen to all those saints living the good life afterlife in Heaven?

Hopefully Cyril will take a Stuka-sirened nose dive straight to hell where he belongs.

What is your specific beef with Saint Cyril? The unreadable script he invented has gone out of fashion, centuries ago.

Pope Francis

This seems unlikely, given her stance on suffering and the poor. This is, after all, a woman who once said this:

I think it is very beautiful for the poor to accept their lot, to share it with the passion of Christ. I think the world is being much helped by the suffering of the poor people.

Did Pope Francis provide any actual examples of her doing what he claims?

Really??? You've been active in a number of threads on the Albanian thief, and you're questioning the quote?
https://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Mother_Teresa:

Of course... from Chris's little juvenily named pamphlet. Too bad Chris did not provide a citation, a footnote, an endnote and certainly does provide context.

I understand that some people take Chris's pamphlet as gospel, but having read it it reads like the babbling of a fanatic

Skeptically yours, TBD

"After the service, the faithful knelt to kiss relics of Teresa's hair and blood, held in small medallions under glass. Along with a newly commissioned portrait of Teresa, the items will be kept at the order's convents." From that article. Creepy.

I'm sure there is some good in what the sisters do, today, amongst all the explicit god bothering.

It's from a press conference in Washington, with HRC and Marion Barry, 19 June 1995. Why would you need a foot- or endnote (let alone both as your grammar implies you'd want)?

And I don't see what the context in the text adds. The quote on its own is vile and sadistic. The right context is realizing that MT herself did not suffer, traveled first-class, never got hungry and when she fell ill got first-class health care.

Huh, curious that Chris did not provide a citation, or ya know, the question to which she was responding.

Skeptics refer to that as context. Particularly given Chris's known anti-Catholic bigotry and through and through alcoholism.

He did. Lying for the Albanian thief? Here's the page:
'Mother Teresa, what do you hope to accomplish here?'
'The joy of loving and being loved.'
'That takes a lot of money, doesn't it?'
'It takes a lot of sacrifice.'
'Do you teach the poor to endure their lot?'
'I think it is very beautiful for the poor to accept their lot, to share it with the passion of Christ. I think the world is being much helped by the suffering of the poor people.'
Neither the immediate question, nor the other questions, do in any way diminish that the answer is pure, unadulterated sadism. It's great that there are poor people and that they suffer (as long as it's not me). Hitler and Stalin had more compassion with the people in their surroundings. The thieving, lying Albanian dwarf relished to daily see people suffer.

He did? Where is the source? Where is his citation?

Do you think that we are going accept a bigoted fanatic's word for it, with his silly pamphlet?

If chris can't cite his sources, you don't really expect a skeptic to accept it, do you?

Hitler and Stalin had more respect for scholarship.

Hitchens provided more context and reference than Pope Francis did for his claim, and you seem to have no problems accepting that. Come to that, you've been provided with more citations in this thread than you have provided.
