Most boring election ever.

I have a lovely story from Westie-land - Green Bay. I drove down Godley Rd and every single political sign had been defaced.

Except for Green Party ones.

:bgrin:

A story from real westie land... up Great North Road by Waikumete Cemetery, every Labour and Greens sign had been knocked over, and what makes that so odd is Te Atatu electorate is a Labour strong hold.

NZ First is out, they only needed another 16,600 votes to pick up some list seats.

There won't be many tears shed over that.

Still, you could almost contend that if Winston hadn't got caught out as a lying, sleazy, double-dealing dickhead, he'd just about have the balance of power, since most of the people who deserted NZF would have voted National or ACT.

The less popular ACT and the much less popular Maori Party get 5 seats each and Jim Anderton and Peter Dunne won their seats.

Who you calling unpopular, bro? You come down the Glen Innes Tavern and say the Maori Party isn't popular!

ACT is brilliant! Two election in a row Rodders has surprised the crap out of everyone - last time hanging on and this time, bringing 5 seats to a minority government! Roger Douglas sitting on National government benches. The irony is deep. It'll get even deeper if Key cosies up to the cuzzies.

Oh, and Key is the new PM.

A PM with a combover. What does NZ think it is, Aussie??????

I have to say your thread title is a good description of the future of New Zealand politics. Parliament just will not be the same without Winnie.

Let's just hope Labour haven't been as dishonest with the state of the economy as Palmer/Moore were in 1990.

Either that or some farmers from Helensville.

Funny how your Labour party can actually spell the word properly.

Who's going to play his part now? Tariana Turia?

St Helen? Be dishonest? Come on...
