Morgellons Still a Mystery

What's a shame is that the pro-Morgellon's side has made this into a war between "it's a real parasite" and "it's not," rather than a war between "I'm suffering" or "I'm not suffering." Because obviously, these people are suffering, in the same sense that someone with obsessive-compulsive disorder is suffering when she can't leave the house without checking the door 20 times to see if it's locked, and then rushing home in the middle of the day to check it again.

There may be some people who are helped by being told there's nothing unusual with their skin and not to worry about it, but I suspect there are others who can't simply turn off the worry, any more than someone with clinical depression can make it go away just by thinking happy thoughts.

The Morgellon's people who insist it's a real parasitic disorder have only themselves to blame, but still...

(Disclaimer: I don't know anyone with the disorder, so am only basing my thoughts on what I've read.)

I don't cotton to puns very wool, so if you guys car-rayon this kind of off-topic textile have to flax the mods to lock this thread.
