MOORE SHUTS DOWN HIS WEBSITE...RUNS AWAY TO CRY

Michael Moore nor anyone on either side of the fence has reason to be so steadfast in their choices or criticisms.

Neither man in the 2004 election was suited to the job.

George W. Bush is a bad president. John Kerry would have been a bad president.

The presidency is no longer a position that is attained through perseverance and level-headed thinking that will benefit the nation as a whole. A person can no longer hope to become president unless they are extremely wealthy.

I think we can all agree that there must be someone in this country that is better suited to oversee the country than either of these two gentlemen.

Seeing the likes of you scared....makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.

Lets try a test on you AA...when I say Supreme Court vacancies does that jolt ya? How 'bout Patriot Act Renewal??? How's the old blood pressure doin???

Perhaps Fair trials quickly followed by summary executions of Gitmo "detainees"??? Still feeling queasy? Or have you barfed on your keyboard yet?

How's EXPANSION OF THE WOT grab you??? Do you twitch when I predict the US veto of the UN's attempt to villify Israel for their (coming soon to a theater of war near you) bombing of Iran's new-cue-lar reactor??? :D

Now that Arafat is slowly assuming room temperature,...who do you suppose will arise from the impending blood-bath of succession in Ramallah? A moderate that Bush and Sharon can work with to bring peace to the Palestinians?? Or a Hamas savage that Bush can justify bombing the crap outta??

How do you feel AA? You look a little green round the ole gills. Buck up man....stop your crying! Remember, the "freedom fighters" of Fallujah have a lot more to be sick about than you do. You don't see them crying, whining, or threatening to move!
No,...they're just all starting to do Arafat impressions in massive numbers!

Ah Nov 4th! Hell, and I thought Nov 3rd was a good day!

;)

Which side are you trying to be on here?

Good question.

I think he is deluded into thinking that his comments have any effect beyond destroying his credibility here.

I used to be sympathetic to him and his occasional lunatic Coulteresque rants, but quite frankly today he is proving himself to be pretty worthless.

Sad that he expresses joy by what he thinks is making others feel bad about things. Worse that he appears to believe that he is successful.

I'm not convinced that he is actually in control of himself right now, that the stress of a possible Kerry win and the following relief has knocked something loose in his brain. This level of idiot vitrol is well beyond even his standards...

Bravo! Well said! A Texan with brains AND clear sight! Would that your views were more common across the interior of the continental US.

I do believe I was not the only poster here who agreed with you 100%, and even named a likely candidate. Alas, this gentleman (and he IS a gentleman, unlike the newly elected president who is a brainless yahoo) did not stand, and has indicated he is leaving the Cabinet anyway. Even though he is a Republican, the world would have breathed a whole lot easier today.

Compared to whom? Kennedy? Clinton? Gore? Bush in 2000?

Compared to Gore and Bush in 2000, the same people who are claiming a mandate from the popular vote now were claiming that the popular vote was unimportant. In many instances they were doing it up until a few days ago.

It's purely ad hoc.

You've lost me.

It is a well known fact of real life that the direct popular vote has nothing to do with electing the President, and that multiple people have assumed the office without benefit of more than 50% of the popular vote.

But if you want to attach some extra-legal significance to the popular vote, then the term mandate is usually reserved for those who assumed the office...what exactly did Gore do with *his* 'mandate'?

As far as the post-game posturing, 'We're number One!!' is as inane as ' We were robbed!'.

And complaining that the other side only won by 4 million votes, or 10 states, or 9 electoral votes, therefor 'they don't have a mandate' tells me that the Democrats are going to be drinking this whine again in 4 years.

When I went on the website there was only the "evil Bush" collage in which Moore cravenly uses the deaths of loyal Americans to attempt to smear our President. there was no link...just a black border and a "We're not going away" message.

Did you see what's on there now?

Thursday, November 4th, 2004
My first thoughts after the election...

Cpl. Roberto Abad, Sgt. Michael D. Acklin II, Spc. Genaro Acosta, Pfc. Steven Acosta, Capt. James F. Adamouski, Pvt. Algernon Adams, Sgt. Brandon E. Adams, Spc. Clarence Adams III,...

Erily similar to a recent thread started by the Fool.

Exactly the kind of unpatriotic, thug-like bullying one expects. Got your brown shirt pressed, rik?

Are you suggesting he is copying my work?

Nah.

Moore isn't going anywhere. The man makes his living selling distortions about conservatives / Republicans. If Kerry had won, Moore would probably be bankrupt at the end of the next four years (providing Kerry lasted that long).

Moore just added "17 reasons not to slit your wrists" to his web page.

Actually: #1 should be "It's not effective". You need to really dig down and find a major artery, like a femoral or carotid artery. The vessels in your wrists aren't major enough, even slitting following the vein, you'll most likely not bleed out. You'll lose consciousness, someone will 'rescue' you, and there you are (in custody) explaining to a psychologist why you did that. It's a suicidal gesture.

If you want death, a stout rope (or other ligature) around the neck, sturdily anchored will do it better and less messily. Use a drop cloth anyway, because you'll 'leak' afterwards. Almost instantly unconscious, dead in minutes. Rope, sheets, robe ties, etc. are all unregulated and readily available. Suicide is still likelier to kill you than homicide by 3:2 throughout your life, and in the top three causes of death throughout the prime of anyone's young life before people's bodies start (statisically) dying faster than people can kill themselves, as if the sedentary, junk-food ridden suicidal lifestyles Americans are used to aren't contributing to those figures.

Steptics are quite easy to tell apart from ‘true believers‘.

We all come to different conclusions based on the available evidence, and that is fine, and natural. Skepticism is a way of looking at things as opposed to the results obtained.

A true skeptic will look critically at the evidence. They will like ‘true believers’ quote the evidence that they believe supports their case.

The difference between the two is that when evidence is clearly proved to be wrong a skeptic will accept the fact, and re-evaluate his position. More often than not their position will not change because of the weight of the other evidence.

A ‘true believer’ however will never admit to being wrong they ignore the subject, will requote the evidence and yet still call themselves Skeptical.

We saw with Luci how despite having had proven that her calculation of probability was flawed she refused to accept reasoned arguments and re quoted the figures endlessly.

Likewise the religious based believers refuse to accept any contradiction or error in the Bible.

Here we have Rik refusing to acknowledge that he was wrong in stating the website had been shut down.

While disagreeing with many of Rik’s opinions in the past I have always felt that he had just reached a different opinion to me, something I have no problem with and was happy to call him skeptical.

I an very disappointed however that he is showing ‘true believer’ symptoms by refusing to accept what is plain for all to see.

How difficult would it be for him to say.

I was wrong, the website was not closed, he has not run away but, I still on the weight of evidence do not like the man or support the majority of his opinions.
