Perhaps you missed it but I made my qualifications known, 2 degrees, technical school graduate, additiional classes in forensic metallography, materials sciences instructor. I recently retired by was employed at the Nat'l Inst. of S & T for a little over 20 years. Spent time in R & D, technical specification and writing, testing and analysis, destructive as well as NDT programs. Numerous other achievements and activities as you can imagine as well as numerous and continued participation in the 3 wtc buildings as well as the Pentagon crash. I also worked in conjuncture with the NTSB and did my fellowship with the ASTM.

So maybe you could explain in simple terms how steel can retain its strenght when heated by an office fire?
 
Provide data that steel retains its strength when exposed to fires or concede.

Allow me to translate:

However, based on that logic, shouldn't we believe the NIST and NTSB reports because they were written by a group of people just as smart is not smarter?
 
Who in Hades calls it "Nat'l Inst. of S & T" when NIST is the official acronym and is much easier to type?

Most people never understand the criteria and the processes for what it takes for melting, softening or enabling molecules in the steel to "flow", there is a lot to it, needless to say. It's one of the reasons why us folks at the government and private labs never could flatly say that any steel members failed due to heat in the wtc towers.

Even the layman understands that the fires were not strong enough, hot enough, supplied with the correct fuels and gasses to accomplish steel failures.

Oxygen and nitrogen are not fuels on my planet (We have a yellow sun and that possibly explains that).

I'm new so I started out trying to redirect you toward factual info rather than wild guesses, but now... Are you really serious? Are you worth answering?
 
I understand that the vast number of people here don't have the needed qualifications to pursue a debate of merit on this topic. The most highly sought after background or career would be in the area of testing and analysis. I have tried to tone it down, not talk over people's heads, other than myself and one other guy, who acknowledged that he worked as an electrician, we are the only 2 people that have come forward.

if the rest of you, who have done nothing but look like immature teens, amatuerish trolls, would like to tell us what your career accomplishments have been, please do so.

One person claimed to be an architect, but I disproved that after I pointed out that it was nopnsense when the "architect guy" got sloppy and said that modern buildings never considered fire saftety in the design and construction, same thing happened when another guy claimed he was an engineer, yet the engineer guy didn;t know how to contact his local, municipal building, safety and civil engineering department for references and referals.

A number of people just end up on the big ignore pile by me and I pursure thie banishment for unfit activities and nuisance postings

You never worked for NIST. They do not hire Bob the analyst.

First you were a tech writer for NIST, now you looked up someone’s information and you cut and paste like a champ.

Molten steel, do you have any insight or are you just spewing lies about yourself?

If you are who you say you are you understand there were no bombs or thermite used on 911 and 19 terrorists did it. Otherwise you are not from NIST with all the 20 years experiences.

I repeat my request that you show some credentials to the JREF administration so that they can vouch for your work experience and academic claims.

With all due respect to those who think this sort of post is a derail, I disagree. I think these posts make the real issue clear; this poster is not even bothered to try to present a credible lie, he's just making up the first thing that comes into his head. He's not even showing the forum enough respect to try to get away with it.

I've heard of being East Ham, but this one is positively Upminster.
