Mid-Atlanteans in December

Do we need to bring offerings for the birthday boy?
Should they be musical???
I doubt he'd appreciate it, since he's been dead for 180 years.

So you can buy me a beer instead. You can be sure I would be much more appreciative.

Well, I could always bring the Drooling Cat, or the Naked-Leg Cat, but they don't like crowds. Or dogs. Or budgies.

Wow a drooling cat! I have several cats but none that drool. (when you have teen girls cats seem to appear out of nowhere and stay as long as the food flows)

There is one cat I like who is really, REALLY FAT. We think he might be the reincarnation of Richard Nixon...he seems to have an enemies list that the other cats are on.

So how did "naked leg cat" earn it's name? Sounds like therein lies a good story. Drooling cat? [Borat]Not so much.[/Borat]

While it's true that cats don't like crowds or dogs, they seem to like little birds quite a bit.

Ah well, can't wait to see youse guys....the Festivus pole is up and I'm starting to get that lovely Mithraic feeling....soon we'll be dragging the holiday Bull to the altar!

Just love the holiday Bull...don't you?

Okay, yesterday I came down with a stomach thing. Not a real severe one, but enough to put me out of commission. And they're calling for nasty weather on Sunday. I will play it as it lays.

The Budgie of Doom probably had something to do with that. It's her way of making sure you don't go anywhere near a vicious, slavering, killer dog. (To a budgie, ALL dogs probably appear to be vicious, slavering killers.)

I am sorry I have to miss out on the fun...someone drink a beer for me!

Actually, since I don't drink beer, someone drink a ginger ale for me!

We'll buy a beer for Beeps for you! How's that?

LL, get your rest and eat some vitamin C....then drag yourself to the bar on Sunday...
resistance is futile! You WILL be assimilated into the collective! (Just please don't give the collective your stomach thingy...)

Take thee to thy bed! We need you there Sunday!

I'm concerned about the beer supply. I checked the site out, and they only have 300 varieties, and 20 or so taps. I kind of feel we rushed into this without thinking it through

Hmmm...well, okay. Buy some beer for Beeps and some coke syrup from the nearest pharmacy for LibraryLady.

I don't know if I like the sound of this... :boggled:

I honestly don't know if I'll make it or not. I'm really tired, after being up all night with the budgie of sore foot. Bluess, please pm me if you see this.

RFD Washington was a pretty neat place. It turned out they did have beer, after all!

Wunky and Roger and Bluess and IllegalArgument and Prahba and Rikzilla were all there, and Roger recommended something called Young's Double Chocolate Stout, which tasted like Guinness with a tablespoon of Hershey's syrup in it; surprisingly good. We drank a toast to those who couldn't join us, in particular LibraryLady and Crackers, as well as a toast to Nick's speedy recovery from her sprained ankle. There was a little speculation about how a parakeet can sprain her ankle; I'm sticking to the theory that she got blindsided by the left tackle on the draw play.

'Zilla got there late because he's a Dolphins fan and had difficulty tearing himself away from the Dolphins' first win of the NFL season, over the Ravens, who, after losing a close one to the Patriots, appear to be mailing in the remainder of the season.

Surprisingly little slander of other forum-ites, proving that even skeptics are nicer at Christmas. Or something.

Bluess kept swiping French fries off my plate, but redeemed herself by offering me a taste of her grilled tuna.

Wunky ordered desserts for the table; I didn't try the cheese cake, but the apple pie was very good and the chocolate cake was perfect.

We agreed that Crackers and LibraryLady get to set the date and locale for the next Midlantean get-together.

It sounds like a good time was had by all; I am sorry I had to miss it. I know nothing about football, but someone was telling me that the Ravens had just lost to a team that had lost every one of their previous games; I assume that was the Dolphins!

Yes, it was a good time, despite realizing I had been sick all weekend.

Feeling much better now.

Sounds like it was great, except for the fact that Crackers and I weren't there. Nick is doing better today, I'm glad to report. She tells me that the injury happened while she was rescuing people from the Monster in the Closet, but I'm skeptical. :)

Oh, now you tell us. Interesting how quiet you got while the ladies were discussing vaccines and getting cancer from men...

Actually, all the guys got quiet. It was like the place had suddenly turned into LL's "Girls Only! No Guys Allowed" thread in the Humor forum...

Well, I wasn't my talkative self in general. I thought I was just exhausted from work.

You assume correctly.

Now you and LL need to start planning our next meeting.

BTW, for those who were there, did Rikzilla ever get his camera phone out? I don't recall posing for any pictures.

Of course you don't recall it. Why do you think the beer tasted so funny?

Anyways, for any who are interested, we're selling them for a VERY reasonable price.

We even have a film of the fight between Roger, Wunky and Rikzilla. It was a draw, cause Wunky decided to let the boys fight it out themselves. So now, we'll never know who will play Peter Fonda in the Jref version of 'Easy Rider'.
