And how many shootings did you deserve?

I can't speak for MG, but the number of police shootings I deserved in my callow youth is inversely proportional to the number of cops I didn't assault during that same period.

Whether that is also true in Michael Brown's case is still a matter for the courts to decide. I guess you could say...

[sunglasses]

... the jury's still out.

YEEEAAAHHH

The main eyewitness was wanted. He had a great reason to BS.
Maybe he told the truth but his account is suspect to say the least.

Who's the "main eyewitness"? Dorian Johnson? James McKnight? Michael Brady? Piaget Crenshaw? Tiffany Mitchell? How have you decided which of these is the "main" one, and why aren't the other ones important?

Dorian Johnson, the good citizen who was with Brown when he was shot. The most obvious answer. The guy who was wanted in Jefferson City for theft and filing a false report.

I wonder if Google Street View has a similar ruler...how extraordinary we have these tools at our disposal.

:D

Sure is.

If Google Maps has a ruler tool I haven't found it. Even the little box labeled "Earth" only gives you the sat view. No tools.

That's why I tend to go to Google Earth when I really want to check something out. There's a lot more you can do with it.

Even the street view is more manipulable. You can nearly simulate driving with your scroll wheel.

A couple of other accounts:

Piaget Crenshaw

Crenshaw stated, "I saw the police chase him ... down the street and shoot him down." She added that when Brown then raised his arms, the officer shot him two more times, killing him.
"Clearly none of [the shots] hit him, but one, I think, did graze him as they said on the autopsy report. At the end, he just turned around ... after I'm guessing he felt the bullet grazed his arm, he turned around and he was shot multiple times."

Tiffany Mitchell

After the shot, the kid just breaks away. The cop follows him, kept shooting, the kid's body jerked as if he was hit. After his body jerked he turns around, puts his hands up, and the cop continues to walk up on him and continues to shoot until he goes all the way down.
As I pull onto the side, the kid, he finally gets away, he starts running. As he runs the police get out of his vehicle and he follows behind him, shooting. And the kid's body jerked as if he was hit from behind, and he turns around and puts his hands up like this, and the cop continued to fire until he just dropped down to the ground and his face just smacks the concrete.

I can't figure out why it would take more than 2 weeks to present the case to the grand jury.

The first week will consist of traveling around to see some local roads so they have a chance to measure them directly.

I bet the police of Ferguson sure wish they had installed those dashboard cameras now...

Seriously? This is what this thread has come to? Arguing over the width of a street?

You would have to ask Ginger about that ...

Perhaps she will provide you with information she hasn't shared with anyone else..

It's a grand jury investigation -- not a presentation of a kind of wrapped with a bow bill of indictment. The jurors meet each Wednesday, so it's not even banker's hours. There is a large amount of data that to be collected and sorted through even though much of it is not in dispute. McCulloch stated that the grand jury will be presented with all the evidence in this case. That takes time.

I'd also suggest that everyone is running away from this case like it's some overly-affectionate aunt -- with ebola. I'm guessing there in no hurry to have a vote during the current news cycle.

Could you please go back and highlight the section where these witnesses heard the officer cuss at the two gentlemen while ordering them off the street? I seem to have missed that bit of testimony from them.

And that's relevant...how?

IIRC, in the Maps sat view, if you right click in the pic, you will get an option to "measure distance".
