Let's see. This was supposedly leaked to The Gateway Pundit and repeated all over the blogosphere, and "Josie" made no mention of this injury in her account.

Why wouldn't it have been leaked to mainstream media? And why isn't the MSM confirming the story?

Gateway Pundit is hardly a bastion of fact checking.

Hell,the website is now claiming that ISIS in involved in the riot because some idiot had an sign saying "ISIS IS HERE"!

And it has a story about the KKK wanting to hold a rally in Ferguson (and ,God,that is the LAST freaking thing we need) and seems to sympathetic toward the Klan.

Worthless website.

I'm sure he had to account for the loss of inventory somehow so my guess is he made a police report but declined to press charges, which is what I'd do in his place if I knew if I had to see the guy walk into the store again.

He still chose to release the store security video or did the police seize that?
 
The issue of what actually happened is interesting, but almost irrelevant to what is going on there now. The protesters seem to believe (and not without some justification, given the actions of the Chief of Police), that had the officer in question walked into the store and emptied his gun into Brown's back the cops would still be covering for him. They don't trust the authorities on this one, and the police haven't gone out of their way to gain trust either.

As to the politics of the issue, some people here might want to expand their reading a bit. While there are some on the right who are defending the cops, there are others who are talking about how cops now seem to see themselves as soldiers and not law enforcement officers. That change alters the way they interact with citizens in a way that is unhealthy for a free society.

It seems likely that the window was rolled down for the entire encounter. This leaves only the window frame to smack Wilson upside the head if the door is slammed or bounced shut on him. Then you can imagine where his head would have to be if that did happen.

My uncle and my brother-in-law are cops and I too have heard direct accounts from them about lying over little things like if they want to stop someone they just make up a violation.

The drawing is an anatomical drawing and has no relation to the position of the arms or head when shot. Dr Baden said one wound, the graze to the medial aspect mid arm could have occurred from the front or the back and more information was needed to determine the direction of the entry.

FWIW, when I was in St. Louis this past Friday, I heard this exact quote: "It's not even a black/white thing - it's a cops have too much power thing." Speaker was black, also FWIW.

I wasn't asking which shot could have come from the back. I was asking which shot did come from the back. The poster said that they made a mistake in typing the post.

As a 55 year old white guy, I agree with the speaker. The ideal Joe Friday view of police work is the cops showing deference to the citizens they deal with. What we have now is cops requiring deference from citizens. I'm not saying that's what happened here, it's just that the reversal in roles is fueling the resentment in Ferguson.

We've already been over the rep of the site and the ghastly comments.

We did hear from the police that Wilson had swelling on the side of his face, and curiously, that he went to the hospital for it...
