Megan McCain "Am I Not Worthy Of Being A Member of Republican Party?" -In A Word, NO!

The Big Tent has been burned down and replaced with a weird, anti-intellectual GOP version of Mao's Cultural Revolution. Disagreement with any point of Party dogma is akin to mental illness. Dissenters are denounced by the Red Guard and labelled as Counterrevolutionaries, running dogs, and enemies of the People (or worse: RINOs). They risk persecution and slander via relentless propaganda campaigns conducted by the various Party mouthpieces, unless and until they show evidence of having been properly re-educated (Comrade Steele, for example).

I guess Cicero would rather have ideological pure GOP then one that can win elections.

Your idea of a fountain of information for GOP election success in 2013 is a girl who registered as a Republican as a Father's Day gift nine months ago, is preoccupied with what tattoo to get, and hobnobs with Raychill Maddow? By Father's Day next year, she will be back to being a registered Independent, essentially the same thing as a Democrat.

And yet, I'm a Republican who will be changing registration to Declined to State. How does that make me a Democrat? And is that characterization fair, particularly in light of this discussion?

Wow. Meghan McCain wants to change her party for the better, and she's getting crucified for her effort. I particularly like the part where people are slamming her appearance (such as the "plus sized model" bit); it really shows everyone what conservatives are all about.

Gotta love "compassionate conservatism." The fact that Cicero is joining the witch hunt surprises me not at all.

Amazing. For years, libs have not exactly been complimentary about A.C.'s looks, but Laura Ingraham can't even make fun of Meghan's Valley Girl speech and or even utter the dreaded "plus sized model" phrase? Now that Meghan wants to play at being a lumberjack, she better learn to handle her end of the log.

LAURA INGRAHAM, RADIO TALK SHOW HOST:
"Meghan, do you think that anyone would be talking to you if you weren't kind of cute and you weren't the daughter of John McCain? OK. "I was really hoping that I was going to get that role in the 'Real World,' but then I realized that, well, they don't like plus-sized models."

"Cute" is right up there with the most pernicious insults.

A.C. isn't even taking Meghan's bait. She just ignores the twit.

You know, 'Rachel' is a reasonably common name. The correct spelling has been pointed out to you more than once. Yet you persist in railing about this person called Raychill Maddow. Is this some sort of weird, anti-librul joke or are you merely retarded?

Just curious.

Why are you changing registration? You no longer wish to vote in the GOP primary?

Amazing. For years, libs have not exactly been complimentary about A.C.'s looks, but Laura Ingraham can't even make fun of Meghan's Valley Girl speech and or even utter the dreaded "plus sized model" phrase?

Er...I'm not exactly seeing where the "but" fits in.

Ingraham was being disgusting, crude, and sexist. That is neither excused nor compounded by Anne Coulter.

Now that Meghan wants to play at being a lumberjack, she better learn to handle her end of the log.

So if you show an interest in participating in the Republican Party, you should expect to be called names and denounced publicly?

In what possible way is that a good thing?

Aren't you equally miffed about how I misspelled Meghan's name in the OP? Or are you Maddow's publicist?

Actually, considering the GOP candidates that run here in our neck of the woods, no. I've yet to see anyone running who has any interest in straightening out the messes in Downtown Sacramento or Washington, but rather are demonstrating they're more interested in profiting from them, a la Trent Lott. Sorry, but at this point, I'm more interested in voting for people who will do the job for us, rather than doing a job on us.

I'm not NotJesus, but your misspelling in the thread title is also a common way to spell the name, even if it isn't correct in McCain's case and you have since made an effort to correct it.

So all the liberal attacks on A.C's physical appearance would warrant your same condemnation, yes?

Meghan's participation is based on getting attention for herself and her blog. Being a prop for Maddow does not endear you to conservatives.

Raychill makes zero effort to correct her fallacy about how Japanese soldiers convicted of waterboarding were executed.

"People found guilty of waterboarding were sentenced to death and hanged."

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26315908/#28269977

Not that the K.O. offspring is ever interested in facts when they get in the way of her daily diatribe against the Bush Administration, but would it be too much to ask her to characterize the type of waterboarding and acts of torture that Asano was charged with?

Defendant: Asano, Yukio

Docket Date: 53/ May 1 - 28, 1947, Yokohama, Japan

Charge: Violation of the Laws and Customs of War: 1. Did willfully and unlawfully mistreat and torture PWs. 2. Did unlawfully take and convert to his own use Red Cross packages and supplies intended for PWs.

Specifications:beating using hands, fists, club; kicking; water torture; burning using cigarettes; strapping on a stretcher head downward

Verdict: 15 years CHL

Only three (3) prisoners were waterboarded, and none of them were subjected to the above treatment.

So all the liberal attacks on A.C's physical appearance would warrant your same condemnation, yes?

Oh, right. Standard Cicero MO, hunt and peck for alleged hypocrisy.

Save it, I'm not buying it.

Fact: Ingraham's statements were disgusting, crude, and sexist. Either defend them or acknowledge as much. Don't try to deflect or derail.

Meghan's participation is based on getting attention for herself and her blog.

Riiiiight. Nobody could actually really be interested in reforming the Party. Certainly not the daughter of its recently failed presidential candidate. Her only possible motivation is wanting attention.

Unlike Ingraham, whose motives are as pure as the driven snow, I'm sure.

Being a prop for Maddow does not endear you to conservatives.

She went on Maddow's show. Big deal. That's not a justification for the crap that's been thrown at her, not by a long shot.

The fact is, the Republican Party is shooting itself in the foot with these juvenile antics. They're completely unjustifiable, and your attempts to justify them are nothing short of pathetic.

Derail attempt noted. Dismissed.

I couldn't care less if the GOP finally crashes and burns. However, as much as I don't care for the two-party system, I like the idea of a one-party system even less.

The GOP has a noose tied around it's neck by the extremism of the Religious Right that's dragging it down. If it is going to survive another generation, it has to cut that connection and get more moderate on faux-family values like being anti-gay marriage.

Now, lad, you may be too old to notice, but she uses her physical appearance to get attention, and as such she's introduced it into the discussion.

At this point, I think I'd settle for them being honest. Tell us what you believe, then let your actions follow suit. Considering that the Round Mound of Sound's made it clear that we ought to do what he says and not what he does, I don't think that's happening anytime soon.

The same would go for most of those on the Right, especially those in the media, (though from what I'm seeing, and I could be wrong, Hugh Hewitt seems to be far more tolerable than the majority.)
