Medium finds missing woman in UK river

From that link he found the body downstream from a bench her phone and dog were found and where she was last seen.
A body was found less than a mile from where Nikki was last seen more than three weeks ago

Not very psychic and one wonders why the police or other concerned persons didn't do a more thorough search of the area.

Maybe the psychic didn't find the body there... maybe they placed the body there???

Of course. But looking at what's most likely, I think Captain Obvious looking where she was last seen slightly edges out the likelihood he's the killer.

But both options are on the table IMO.

The one thing not on the table: that he's psychic.

At best, a stopped clock is right twice a day.

More likely, it's "I see a number starting with T - it might be two, or three, or might be ten past something, or maybe ten to. I'm definitely seeing something in the upper part of the clock, but possibly something around the five or six."

The self-described psychic has stated that he does not know for certain if the body is that of the woman reported missing. Though the circumstances appear that to be the case, the actual identification by the authorities has yet to occur. It seems to me we once again find psychic abilities to be arbitrary and of limited accuracy, as final determination must be achieved using forensic science.

"It is with deep regret that I must finally address the many minutes of online speculation with the following series of boasts to the national press."

We can mock and abuse psychics and mediums but he did claim to have been guided to the spot and found the body.

Of course, I have been to a spiritualist meeting and it is bunkum.

However, by roundly scorning people who claim to have psychic gifts, whether fraudulent or well-intentioned, perhaps we lose touch with our ability to let our instincts and gut feeling guide us, preferring instead the shrill clamouring of the crowd and enforced social conformity.

Had this particular psychic, Jason Dean Rothwell, done as he was told and stopped 'speculating', who knows how much longer the body would have been left undiscovered.

??? It was identified yesterday.

Any evidence that this guy actually found the body even? The article mentions a photo showing him "pointing to the waters where Lancashire Police massed yesterday afternoon."

The photo was taken by an independent motorist who happened to be passing by, who stopped to watch.

Rothwell and his friend did indeed spot the body, rang up the police and they obviously came along promptly to have a look.

Is there any evidence of him saying he knew where the body was, and saying where that was, before actually finding it?

The person who happened to spot the body when it washed up, which is what lots of bodies in water eventually do, happened to be a medium.

The sooner we start trusting reality over fantasy, the better.

Such a weird false dichotomy- criticizing frauds somehow equating to "going along with the crowd." Considering the number of people who believe in angels, Bigfoot, mediums, etc. going against them certainly isn't "forced social conformity." It's rejecting ********.
