Measles exposure

Nope, I take that back, the dates are wrong for the Lynden woman being the vector. Yegads, how many people are walking around here with incubating measles??
Yes, it's interesting that the virus is out there ready to pounce. It can be eradicated with the vaccine.

From the 17th
PORT ANGELES — Since a total of 13 measles cases were detected last month in San Juan, Whatcom and Kitsap counties, North Olympic Peninsula health officials are on the lookout for more cases closer to home.

Could be worse.
Marburg, Ebola, Cueva...

I wonder if there were vaccines for these , how many anti vaxxers there would be.

Not really. Those are viruses that quickly burn out, and rarely turn up. And when they do, they can be stopped with isolation controls.

Because measles "only" kills around one in a thousand, it does not burn out. It is infectious a few days before symptoms, so more get infected. Plus, it causes lots of permanent disability, along with using lots of expensive hospital care to keep the about one in ten who get pneumonia alive.

Measles is not trivial.
