From a commentator active on several Birther websites. "Falcon" sees himself as the Uber-Patriot or Uber-Patriots and HATES McCain. This is from a discussion thread on a site that's dedicated to observing the Birthers. One of the commentators found this little gem..

Over the next few days you are going to hear the Elite Establishment in the Uniparty attempt to tear down Trump over his remarks about John McCain – personally, I don’t really care for Trump, but let’s set the record straight.

John McCain’s father had a grudge with James Forrestal. Yes, the same person who had a ship named after him. In my opinion, McCain attempted to destroy the USS Forrestal in an act of revenge. How the hell he fired a missile while still on the flight deck is one of the greatest mysteries of the Vietnam war. Almost sunk the ship – and then when the firefighters arrived on deck – McCain ran – he jumped from the cockpit and that’s why you see pictures of him on crutches. He says he strained his ankle. Some war hero. Almost sunk his own ship – and gets a purple heart for twisting his own ankle after jumping and running away. The fire blazed for over 12 hours and McCain never once lifted a finger to help extinguish it. Burnt through the flight deck and asphalt down to concrete.

James Forrestal was an original member of Majestic12. And yes, another of those crazy conspiracy theories that has been proven to be true. Forrestal was tossed out of a window at a Naval Hospital and guess what – he discovered he couldn’t fly. He didn’t have wings.

John McCain, while in captivity at the Hanoi Hilton, delivered 32 tape recorded messages to our own troops in an attempt to derail our involvement in the fight against communism. John McCain also ratted out troop positions and got hundreds, if not thousands, of troops killed. In other words, he’s a traitor, not a hero, unless you consider Bergdahl a hero, and in that case, you’re a communist.

Am I understanding this correctly? The accusation is that a man deliberately attempted to destroy a ship that he was on at the time because it bore the name of a man his father didn't like? A grown adult human being actually strung those thoughts together and decided they were profound enough to share with the world?

Isn't the Internet wonderful? Anyone with Internet access can propose the most absurd idea, even ignoring the basic facts of physics and history, and propagate that idea to the world! And even more amazing, there will be other people who will strongly buy into that idea, and support it with their own Internet droolings.

Scientifically, I understand that public ravings such as this one (IMHO) are inevitable given that there are 7 billion people on the planet, with more and more having Internet access. It is interesting from a cultural point of view, although I understand it is becoming more and more a problem for psychiatrists because patients can find support for their own pathological ideas, whatever they might be.

The JFF dingbat on the Loose Change Forum once claimed that McCain sang like a bird while a North Vietnamese captive. He claimed to have proof but "could not reveal it now".

Well duh of course! McCain's lackeys are EVERYWHERE! It won't be safe to reveal the truth until McCain, all his lackeys, everyone they know, and everyone that the people they know know, are all dead! Maybe even not then. Check back here around the mid 24th century.
 
McCain was in his combat-loaded airplane, awaiting start-up, when the plane next to his was hit by a 5" rocket, which had accidentally been fired from a third plane, because proper safety procedures had not been followed. He climbed out of the jet, which was engulfed in a fuel fire, dropped to the deck, and took bomb shrapnel to the legs and back when the substandard bombs that were loaded on the neighbouring jet cooked off in the fire. He was lucky that he wasn't killed along with the majority of the fire-party that was trying to fight the fire, and the pilot of the impacted jet. The whole debacle was a series of ****-ups that should never have happened. McCain had no part in the misfire that started the conflagration.

When I was in Navy boot camp back in 1983 we all watched a movie on that fire. It was produced in 1972 prior to his retirement in 1981 and entry into politics. In other words he was still a nobody, to us anyway.


I was impressed by the actions of the damage control teams that keep going towards the flames after the bombs exploded.

I was an AO from '86 to '90, and Trial by Fire was drilled into us very thoroughly. Some of my seniors had been on Forrestal during the incident, and there's a lot more to it than that film gets into.

The Navy learned some hard lessons from that, and the training legacy continues to this day.

McCain is (was) legendary aboard Forrestal, as I learned from two temporary assignments to her in '87 and '88, working on training procedures and ordnance handling equipment safety problems.
 
I have it on good authority that the USS Forrestal doesn't actually exist as carrier cannot actually float or carry aircraft nor did the Vietnam war happen and as a matter of fact Vietnam doesn't even exist.....I'm working on air not existing and should have that done by Tuesday.
