May 2007 Stundie Nominations

Global Warming is the biggest scam to infect the planet. What happened to the OZONE propaganda? Global Warming=Global Tax=Global Police=TOTAL CONTROL.

Yes. That damn Global Warming Police. If only we could get out of these shackles...

They usually flock to political beliefs which involve control, sexual deviancy, aggression, power, religious overtones, etc. It's not surprising many flock to the side of NeoCons and support their handiwork. Sociopaths find their home with the criminal minded.

Yep, when I think of the debunkers on here the first things that pop into my mind are how power hungry, sexually deviant, aggressive and overtly religious we are.

Oh wait..... we aren't any of those things. THEY ARE! Oh the hyper-irony served on a bed of regular irony.

The idea that we're sociopathic Neocon sycophants is the topper though.

This months Stundies are going to be one for the ages.

I have my own doubts over anthropogenic global warming, but never would I think it's a conspiracy to institute a police state. That's just silly. Paranoid too, but with Truthers that goes without saying.

I never had any doubts about AGW because I believe everything the US Govt says.....

...no wait....

...until very recently, the US Govt was denying climate change completely, let alone AGW.... so that must mean I must be a 'truther' now...damn, it's all very confusing.

Well, denying climate change completely is also rather silly.

Despite the fact that I hate the entire "Green Movement" (due in no small part to my unadulterated hatred of Greenpeace) and the "Organic" Food movement in particular I'm in favor of almost all proposed Global Warming Mitigation proposals.

That well known climate scientist Michael Crichton managed to write an entire silly book based on that premise, and get invited to speak before US senators on the subject.

But then, all his books are silly anyway.

When I was at high school, I was doing an assignment on ozone depletion for Geography. I wrote to Greenpeace, asking them for some information. They sent me a whole heap of stuff about the Green House Effect and CO2, and nothing about Ozone depletion.

Frankly, if that's who is going to save the planet, we're all doomed.

That's not a reponse to me. I've never encouraged anyone to critique my work "with common sense." Someone is posting with my name on the Jack Blood forum. I'll let them know.

Did think it sounded unfamiliar. Hope it gets sorted.

Maybe not worthy of a stundie, but still full of delicious irony....

Here we go again with the positively IDIOTIC questions posed as contributions in a thread. I'm not even goin to waste my time explaining anything to you e^n. One minute you're Mr. Science, master of equations and the laws of nature. But when it suits your obfuscatory purpose, you go all sophomoric and waste someone's time explaining the obvious to little ol' e^n. I think it was 28th Kingdom who said This one's a tw*t, get rid of him. I could not agree more. You are a total waste of resources. <_< Oh, and the correct term is "bandied". Wise fool.

There, ladies and gentlemen, we have a fine example of 'truther' mentality.

Let's consider the following:

  • 'Truthers' are endowed with an particular insight into world events which the rest of us normal people are lacking.
  • This insight gives 'truthers' the ability to see proof of a conspiracy within the available evidence.
  • Having this insight means that the 'truthers' band together and attempt to form a movement.
  • This movement is intended to instigate action against those who the 'truther' sees as being in on the conspiracy
  • In order for any action to take place, the 'truther' has to convince those of us lacking in this gift of insight, of the 'truth' of conspiracy
  • Convincing others requires engaging them in discussion and pointing out the evidence and facts which, had the others been blessed with this power of insight they would have seen for themselves, but since they are not so blessed they need a little coaching.
  • When called upon to provide this coaching the 'truthers'...well.... as we see above, they don't really have the ability to convince. That's where the 'truther' doctrine breaks down.

BCCI, the drug smuggling/black ops/terror funding/god knows what nexus point bank where the US, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, etc ran wild...

is just ONE of many smoking guns that BOTH "al Qaeda" and "Islamic terrorism"
are controlled by the same new world order globalists that control the US, Israel, and UK.

al Qaeda is real, Osama is a bad guy, but they are just puppets like Bush, meant to instill fear and hate and form this Hagelian dialect. BCCI is something "debunkers" and people who laugh at conspiracies need to research.

Is there any bigger smoking gun of Bush and bin Laden family complicity than this? I think not

Those of us in Scotland who remember the demise of BCCI (there were indeed suggestions of dirty dealings and fraud, btw) will do so because my local authority (Comhairle Nan Eilean, or the Western Isles Council to all you beurla speaking sassenachs) had invested every penny they had in it........:yikes:

Actually I kinda liked State of Fear. It was awfully preachy though. But I agreed with his message at the back of the book that funding for climate research needs to be separated from the various interests that want to control the outcome of those studies.

Increased funding for climate research is a good thing, but only if it is free of bias.

I had numerous run-ins with Greenpeace while in school. Most of my animosity towards Greenpeace stems from that. I have other reasons, like them convincing famine ridden nations to not accept perfectly good genetically modified food that could have fed hundreds of thousands, but most of it started back in school. When I opposed their on campus petition calling for a complete ban on all logging I got labeled and called, in class, a "tree hater" which still angers me to this day because I grew up and still live in a forest that I care deeply about.
