Matthew Shepard monument

Phelps said he intends to put up the monument in City Park, already the location of a controversial statue of the Ten Commandments.

The Ten Commandments statue was donated to the city by the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in 1965.

If the ten commandments are already there, then it must be a good thing to do. Just think what the place would be like without the ten commandments.
 
Simple solution to this one. I would guess a monument like that isn't cheap. So if Fred is somehow able to put it up, then the local police announce in the paper that they are under staffed and will not be able to adequatly patrol the park. Monument gets vandalized or stolen. Fred has to spend more money to fix or replace.

Repeat as necessary. Problem solved.

I've heard about that creep before. It sickens me that some people can be so saturated with hatred. The human race would be better off without this slime.
 
What's the big deal? Get some concerned citizens and a few pickaxes, find some nice Saturday night to head into town, and have a little fun. Not only do you get rid of the "monument," you piss Phelps off, too!
 
if there was a god, phelps would erect the statue himself and it would fall on him, crushing him to death.

phelps is a coward and a buffoon.
 
That b@st@rd came to this area a couple of years ago, protesting because the seniors of a local high school voted a lesbian couple "best couple" in the yearbook. He managed to attract two crowds: about 30 supporters, mostly from out of state, and over 100 protesters, mostly local. Pity the cops had a duty to protect him.

I thought him a buffoon then; I don't have the words for what I think of him for this act.

On the plus side, think of all he's doing to drive thinking folks away from religion...

Depending on what the statue looks like, it seems that the problem with the monument is the plaque. Simply keep changing the plaque to a proper memorial, and say thanks Fred for the nice statue.

If these council members have any critical thinking skills at all, they will now understand the folly of allowing the 10 Commandments statue and will remove it and not allow any more statues. It's a shame it has to come to such analytical analysis when the whole thing just screams with horror: WRONG, WRONG, WRONG. But we will win the war, battle by battle.

I think the plaque should be returned to him, inserted where the sun don't shine.

A violation of both the man and his religious principles. Remember, while Leviticus 18:22 says: "Thou shalt not lie with mankind as with womankind; it is abomination.", they always leave out Leviticus 18:23: "Likewise, Thou shalt not lie with plaques as with mankind; for it hurteth like hell, wherest thou shall surely spend eternity"

Nothing on their webpage about it.

My guess is that they would be agaisnt both the 10 Commandment monument and Phelps' pieces of garbage being on city property.
