IIRC, he was sacked by his firm a few years ago and he now makes his living separating 9/11 truthers from their money.

I fully admit it.

I don't expect the nominee to win, but it's still a stupid mistake to make given that the geography was laid out in the thread title he was responding to and worthy of noting, if nothing else.

Haha! It totally flew over my head and I completely forgot that the uni in question is in Canada! :blush:

Still not the greatest Stundie but it is much more legitimate of a submission than I assumed.

I kind of jumped the gun here, lately I started to notice that the Stundies are used as a loophole to make fun of other posters on JREF and I here I go picking a post that actually isn't guilty of doing this.

Ok so I'm a huge fan of the Vancouver Canucks hockey team. Recently one of our star players suffered a concussion. Apparently a couple days ago there was a christian gathering in the arena and they prayed for him to get better. The thread on our Canucks forum quickly devoloved into an atheist vs. christan flame war. I posted after someone said that evolution was "just a theory" and this was the reply to my post.

what you fail to consider is that evolution might have been partly invented and what the motive might have been behind that.

there are not these 2 opposing theories. there are many researches int things like "intelligent design" and it takes some clarity to step out of the polarized debate and look for actual truth.

3rd options are often not thought about by polarized arguers. they tend to think there are only 2 choices.

the idea that humans evolved from monkeys, is to me, a bit ridiculous. I could cite many reasons. for example, who is to say that some humans, say 10% of them, actually did not in fact devolve from << higher- ordered societies>>* ...? this is just stating one independent train of thought. but that seems to be too much for a lot of folks. (makes them work too hard)

also if you're a troll and you just want to reply an obscenity, please take a hike.

LOL. That guy believes in the "paleo diet" which is like the Atkins diet, but it requires a person to eat even more red meat. I have also noticed that anyone I have heard of following this diet believes in conspiracy theories that the government and/or the food industry is trying to trick everyone into a vegetarian diet. That Hawaiian Libertarian guy I linked to above talks about that a lot.

This post is the kind of thing that separates us from them. You are a gentleman and a scholar, good sir. :)

You're absolutely right about the stundies occasionally being hijacked as well. Overall, I feel the stundies have stayed true to their original intent. On most forums they would have degenerated almost immediately into hyper-partisan sniping. Travis and Unsecured Coins before him have done a good job filtering out the partisan jabs from the legitimate nominees.
