Major explosion in downtown Nashville

In the pictures posted by Checkmite, point out the Hooters.

I already did. It's the building with the orange marquise at the left side of Checkmite's first one. When you follow my street view link originally posted in #225, you will see those marquises again on the left, and you will be able to explore the buildings in not-so-modern architechture to your right of it, which are now destroyed. You can go back from street view to normal view and read the announcements "temporarily close" at those shops, which made me find the text on the "Old Spaghetti Factory" website I posted shortly after.

Old Spaghetti Factory said:
This location is TEMPORARILY closed for repairs. Due to the recent structural and property damage made to our restaurant from the downtown explosion on December 25th 2020, we are temporarily closed until further notice.

Can you give a link to the source of these photos?

I can't, they were found on social media and not credited.

But wait a second...what difference does it make? Are you seriously contending those photographs are staged somehow?

It's clearly 2nd Avenue, between Commerce and Church. Here is a capture from Windows Maps "street view".

All of this damage is visible from the helicopter footage of the scene I posted earlier in the thread - credited to WTVF, Nashville channel 5 news if it really matters that much - beginning right about here:

Not staged but a different site. I did see one image today with the street debris, so maybe they are of the site.

NPR image of some street debris that resembles the unsourced images.

The Hooters can be also seen in your video at 9 minutes in and apparently several other timestamps.

That was a massive explosion.

Unless Islamists, White Supremicists, Incels, Trumpists, the Greys and other suspects suddenly have started hating Spaghetti, I guess it's absolutely safe from skimming the video that the Bell South/AT&T building on the other side of the street was indeed the target.

About the "residential area" part. I've heard some reports of people quoted along the lines of "I looked out my window and saw the RV". So was this a mixed use area that included some residences?

It was not what I would refer to as a residential area. It is a commercial area of of older buildings that recently had residential lofts created above the street-level shops and restaurants. My son and daughter-in-law had their wedding reception in one of the venues. The street is blocked off to vehicular traffic on the weekends in busier times

At least one local TV station is reporting that the FBI is looking into the 5G angle:

The "Bat Building" whose picture has been posted here is one of the most prominent buildings in all of Nashville. It is close to the site of the explosion, but a different building. I am not sure of this source, but the information appears to be accurate and has great pictures:

I remain skeptical of the targeting AT&T theory. 2nd Ave is a prominent location.

Living in downtown Nashville has become increasingly popular in recent years. I would say that the entire downtown has become mixed-use (residential/office/store front). Yes there were people living in the area. The Nashville police are being widely praised for working to evacuate residents just prior to the explosion.

The buildings are actors! Kubrick shot it on an MGM back lot! Wake up sheeple!

Daily Mail: He was weird and paranoid about 5G and was constantly fiddling with his antenna. Info from the neighbors I suppose.

The original online source for the photos Checkmite posted seems to be a reporter for a local Nashville station.

eah, that appeared to be the source to me too. It seems to have only been picked up by the Drudge report so far. Even so, I think I agree that Checkmite has identified enough similarities (and I can't find any contradictions) that convince me it's what Checkmite thinks it is. I can always change my mind later.

Even so, note that it left most of the structural walls standing. I'd say this guy fell short of what he could have done with a full RV.

I'm guessing that neighbor tips brought the FBI to his home rather than license plates or serial number (VIN).
