Not really. LTEC was apocryphal, and likely fiction, later attributed to a woman who was only 9 years old when the account was first published.

This, on the other hand, is an actual documented attribution, whose author deserves scorn because of it.


And we should all remember that what we are taught as history, while often truthy enough, is not always actually true. But your endorsement of a popular revolt, and mass executions of the 1%, is duly noted.

No. Fer is iron, and chemin de fer is a word for word translation for "road of iron" and means railroad or railway. But the actual rails are properly referred to as ferré.

She is probably right that by most measures, her family's contribution to the economy outweigh the service of a single veteran. There is still plenty to critique, but the other side have been less than artful. But that is consistent with expectations of the intelligence level of likely enlisted military families.

There's nothing special about her. Billionaires can always find a "model" to "marry". She'll age out of her looks and someone younger will take over the job of arm candy for hire.

And there is nothing special about a person in the army. There are far more replacements for them than her. So even on that grounds she comes out ahead to the person who drew the comparison.
 
Personally I sympathise with her. Vacuous spending on overpriced designer labels is probably one of the few pleasures she gets to make up for prostituting herself to a fat, older man....

Actually, there are probably more knee-pad sluts for billionaires. There's a shortage of people who want to be in the Army, can qualify on the ASVAB and meet the minimum medical qualifications. However, there never seems to be a shortage of Models who want to get paid to hang on the arms of billionaires.

I'm almost a year and a half older, though I did feel an early twinge back in 2008 when I discovered I'm 3 days older than Obama. :eek:

And Louise is 36 or so, not exactly a child bride marriage (I was surprised to learn they just got hitched last month).

Surprisingly, he's not in the Billionaires Club either... worth about half what the individual Mega-Lotto winner just took home this past week. :D

Of course he did get divorced in 2014... that may have cost him half. ;)


As for the thread topic... my gripe at her original post was the "daytrip" tag.
As though it had been a shopping trip and spa day... on the people's dime.

The optics were just horrible... and her response managed to make it far worse.
But it's far from the worst thing to date about this administration. Just more unfortunate tone-deafness from Trump World. :(

And what's the overall contribution of the arm candy? It's the billionaire's money she has.

In any case, she made reference to sacrifice for the country so even if the Mnuchins have paid a hatful of tax, is that a sacrifice on a par with losing a loved one or being made a quadriplegic by an I.E.D. in Afghanistan ?

I didn't say sacrifice, I said contribution. However sad it is that person's death is, it ultimately contributes very little. Her words were how much was given.
