When critical thinking is abandoned in favor of arguments from incredulity and ignorance, when focused analysis, reason, and logic are left behind, and people actually take pride in embracing non-science and magical thinking, failure to assemble or even understand rational arguments seems a virtual certainty.

I'm just popping up here to mention that Darat tells me - in answer to a question I asked - that I have started 84 topics since I joined JREF and that the previous longest one had 101 posts, so thanks to all here for providing me with an impressive statistic!
