Please explain WHY you, without providing ANY supporting data, expect anyone on a critical thinking forum to accept your proposal of a (seemingly arbitrary) 50/50 (bi-polar?) split as somehow feasible and/or desirable
This chapter of my book will prove you that symmetrical lifestyle is an optimal one for all human beings' history.
Sorry that I put it in your forum.
A comparison between the optimal lifestyle and others on either side of it
Let us see in what way the “FJT-FFT SYSTEM” relates to the existing or theoretically possible work and free time systems.
The main time unit that is used in almost every society is the one-week time period. Let us also divide this time into all its possible combinations of working and free stages including the one-week “FJT-FFT SYSTEM” variant. Let us also add to the one-week time unit all others used in the complete “FJT-FFT SYSTEM” (two or four weeks, one, two, four or six months, one or two years) and divide them in the same way.
In this way we will obtain a symmetric construction system of the different lifestyles. Some of them really exist while the others are theoretically possible.
The Differently balanced working and free day system table helps to see all of them in relative places. (See page 103)
In the lower part of the table (1L to 4L) the system is composed mainly of working days. The more distant the system remains from the middle the greater the part composed of working days and right at the bottom (4L) a total working lifestyle remains.
In the upper part of the table (1U to 4U) the system is composed mainly of free time. The more distant the system remains from the middle the greater the part that is composed of free days and right at the top (4U) a totally work-free lifestyle remains.
The symmetric axis of the table is the complete “FJT-FFT SYSTEM”.
Every lifestyle in the top section of the table has a corresponding, symmetrically opposite one in the lower half of the table. With the exception of the “FJT-FFT SYSTEM” every one of these lifestyles exists today and is used in a time-unit of one week. Work with almost no free days (4L) is followed by many workaholics, business owners and some immigrants in developed countries. Work with one or two free days per week (3L and 2L) is followed by most working people today being the traditional lifestyle.
Three vacation days in a week (1L) is followed by people who for various reasons cannot work a full week, for example, women with small children and people who have retired, etc. Work for one, two or three days a week (3U, 2U and 1U) is followed by some people who have retired, women with small children and some disabled persons.
Other variants of separating free time from working time stages in various units of time occur only in the theoretical and logical “FJT-FFT SYSTEM” which is not in use today.
This table shows very clearly that the symmetrical variants between the upper and lower sections of the table give the same spiritual and intellectual comfort levels and the same frustration levels from losses.
So the point of view that the more free time is given to people with the same material provision levels the more harmonious and active will be their sense of spiritual and intellectual life is not correct. When a person has too much free time the frustrations and danger levels will be the same as when they have too much work time.
The table shows two directions of the lifestyle steps development, from the top and the bottom to the middle. Every step taken from the top or the bottom moving towards the middle significantly improves the man’s quality of life. For example, if a retired or disabled person who is frustrated with not having work gets 1 or 2 working days per week he will be very happy as it will have a great impact on his quality of life. An equally positive input will occur when a person changes from working every day of the week to having a 1- or 2-day weekend.
The middle part of the table, the “FJT-FFT SYSTEM” (M), is the meeting or intersection point of the two theoretical/practical development lines, the work-dominated and the freedom-dominated lifestyles.
THE DIFFERENTLY BALANCED JOB AND FREE DAY SISTEM TABLE
Total free time with no work Very soon brings to most people the loss of spiritual and intellectual comfort and there is a very big danger of losing the main professional abilities and becoming depressed. 4U
Work for 1 out of 7 time units Returns minimal spiritual and intellectual comfort to most people because it gives a minimal professional rehabilitation and it is a major improvement as compared to the 4U life style but a small risk remains of losing it. 3U
Work for 2 out of 7 time units Gives satisfactory spiritual and intellectual comfort and the significant positive effect, compared to the 3U life style. The big danger is not completely using professional abilities. 2U
Work for 3 out of 7 time units Gives good spiritual and intellectual comfort, and more positive effect, compared to the 2U life style. There is only a slight danger of not completely using professional abilities. 1U
Work and vacation for equal time units — the “FJT –FFT SYSTEM” Maximal spiritual and intellectual comfort. No danger of depression brought about by loss of professional abilities. M
Vacation for 3 out of 7 time units Gives good spiritual and intellectual comfort and has a more positive effect, compare the 2L life style. There is only a slight danger of not completely using the ability to make use of free time. 1L
Vacation for 2 out of 7 time units Gives satisfactory spiritual and intellectual comfort and has a significant positive effect as compared to the 3L life style. The big danger is of not completely using the abilities to live in ones free time. 2L
Vacation for 1 out of 7 time units Gives minimal spiritual and intellectual comfort and has a huge positive effect as compared to the 4L life style. There is a danger of the complete loss of ability to live in ones free time. 3L
A total work regime. Gives only physiology comfort, without intellectual and spirit one. The big danger of the complete losses the abilities to live in ones free time and becomes depressed as a result. 4L
So we can view the “FJT-FFT SYSTEM” as the optimal lifestyle development variant with an equal number of days in the person’s work and free stages. It is possible to achieve a maximum qualitative balance between work and free time stages for a person and for the society. If the balance is weighted in either of the two directions the changes in quantity of job time or free time will bring about spiritual and intellectual comfort problems or even frustrations to most people.
Many thousands of years ago the ancient Jewish intellectual-spiritual elite constructed a very harmonic lifestyle variant of free time and job time in a proportion of almost 50/50 and still use it today. Consciously or not they observed the law of equal balance between the quantity of working and free days.
The “FJT-FFT SYSTEM” will bring about a modern law observing equal and symmetric balance between the number of job and free days as the most optimal and effective lifestyle for most people.
Living in the 4U or 4L lifestyles, having either too much time or too much work will destroy a person’s ability to live in the contra stage. Most people of the 3L and 2L lifestyles prefer their free stage to their job stage whereas the opposite is true for those in the 3U and 2U lifestyles who prefer their job stages to their free stages. Living in the 1L or 1U systems brings about a situation where there is no significant preference for either of the two stages.
The “FJT-FFT SYSTEM” gives a person a strong belief that he obtains equally intense enjoyment from both his work and free stages.
