Looking for Skeptics

Still all quiet on the flaccon front. I hope any journalists who may have interviewed her and other members of her family will have the decency not to feed her delusions and make her a laughing stock.

I hope flaccon's silence means that Friday's events did not go as she expected, and no newspaper report will be forthcoming. It's hard to see how any decent journalist could see such obvious (and, in comparison to the ones that do make the news, unimpressive) examples of pareidolia as worthy of an article.

At the very beginning of the thread flaccon wrote (my bolding):

I wasn't researching for 20 years. I protected the kids, well. 2 of them. Moved homes a few times. I moved to here and it was peaceful for 8 years. I was only trying to record the noises (heavy creaks) and got a load of entangled speech on playback. I didn't record for 2 years after that. Truth on why I tried it again was because a wee child had gone missing "April Jones" and I knew spirits had voices, so maybe I ought to be brave enough and ask them of her where-abouts.

Apparently the spirits didn't come up with any information, but I hope flaccon will steer clear of this sort of thing in future. Every time a child disappears or is murdered you can guarantee that a bunch of self-styled psychics will crawl out of the woodwork and offer useless "help" to the police. These people are scum - don't be one of them, flaccon.

By the way, I'll update the summary whenever needed and re-post it.

As I stated a long time ago, this is religion and identity; and has nothing to do with a rational pursuit of objective truth. There is absolutely no chance of the OP and crew changing their most cherished beliefs on account of clear and convincing evidence when their very sense of self is at stake.

And big pots of cash

I'll second that request, Alice Shortcake, in the hopes flaccon reads it and takes it to heart.

And still no reply from flaccon. I suppose it's too much to hope that a negative outcome with ASKE and lack of newspaper interest will make a dent in her beliefs - if anything I suspect they'll become more entrenched.

I don't know why everyone is assuming the paranormal investigatators had negative results. I think it is more likely they have reinforced flaccon's delusions and she has no need for us any more.

I agree.

But I would love to be proved wrong.

Not that flaccon will be able to explain coherently either way. ;)

If flaccon's "paranormal investigators" or her reporter were impressed enough to report their findings anywhere I'm sure she'll come back to smugly post the link to them. The longer she fails to even visit this forum (and it's been nearly a week now since she has) the more likely I think it is that things did not go at all as she expected. Don't forget she expected that the news would be all over the papers so we couldn't fail to see it.

I'm likewise taking the absence of further comments from ASKE as indicating zero progress.

I've just emailed ASKE to enquire if any progress was made at the meeting. As is so often the case with flaccon's posts, I couldn't make much sense of what little she told us about it.

Maybe she is skeptical enough of the reporter's intentions that she is waiting to see what is actually published before linking it here.

Now THAT would be sensible on her part.
In any case I hope flaccon is well and I'm looking forward to reading about her experiences.

Yep, if the paranormal investigators "confirmed" her beliefs, she won't be needing us.

Likewise, if she fails to produce a claim for ASKE as we predict, she won't tell us.

I'm quite puzzled as to why she posts here at all, except to boast.
