Police officers in my town responded to a nighttime alarm at a 7-11, and arrested two juveniles after following a literal trail of blood from the store's broken glass door to a residence half a mile away. (One of the suspects had a lacerated hand and was transported to a hospital.)

I don't think cops get a chance to do that very often. Except in movies.

I once saw a man clutching his bloodied side walk inside a building and he'd left a trail of blood up the street.

If I was a private investigator this would be the start of this week's episode.
 
Ha! Funny y'all brought this thread up again today. My local news is "It snowed, but not as much as we thought it would."
 
My local news this afternoon is "did you see the chemtrails going over?"

A Keene woman was arrested Friday after police say she contaminated food at a New Hampshire grocery store with her urine and posted videos online, police said.

Kelli Tedford, 23, is charged with felony criminal mischief.

Keene police said Tedford posted videos online showing her contaminating food and surfaces with her urine at the Monadnock Food Co-op in Keene. The store said the alleged incident happened Feb. 10.

Keene Police said they found similar videos posted online that appear to show Tedford contaminating items and surfaces with her urine in Keene and surrounding communities dating back to 2021.

A delivery guy from Wolt took a shortcut on his bicycle through the freeway tunnel under the Limfjord. That's the second time someone from Wolt does that.

I drive through that tunnel every day and you have to be insane in membrane to do that.

A famous YouTuber with nearly 3 million subscribers who makes videos about “architecture, sacred geometry, and AI-consciousness evolution” is charged with attempted murder in New Hampshire for allegedly trying to kill a police officer with his Jeep — an incident he insists didn’t happen, calling it “a massive misunderstanding” at his first court hearing.

“Actually, the state troopers brutalized me,” said Erik Conover, 35, at his bail hearing Sunday, according to The Conway Daily Sun. “Thank God for being in a small town.”

Conover, who goes by Eric Van Conover on YouTube and is described in news articles as a “YouTube millionaire” and real estate broker with a “Luxury Listings” series that features celebrities, told police that he was not the same Erik Conover that they were looking for in connection to the attempted murder of Bartlett Patrol Officer Cameron Emmett on Saturday during a chase and traffic stop gone wrong. Emmett was trying to pull over Conover after seeing the popular YouTuber speed past him in a 35-mph zone while he had a different car pulled over.

“While Officer Emmett exited his vehicle, he moved around to the rear of his cruiser, and you, Mr. Conover, then backed his vehicle rapidly, pointed it directly at Officer Emmett, and accelerated at him, striking him at a reasonably high rate of speed,” Moffitt alleged in court, noting how the officer flew between 20 and 40 feet. “We’re very fortunate that an amateur drone operator was in the air when he saw the interaction and was able to capture it on video,” Moffitt said.

Conover told Howard on Sunday he is not the same Erik Conover police wanted for Emmett’s attempted murder, as he’s from New York City and not Absecon, New Jersey, as authorities claim. “This seems to be a massive misunderstanding,” Conover said, according to the Daily Sun. “I’m exactly who I say I am. I’m a YouTuber.”

At the Monday hearing, Conway Circuit Judge Charles Greenhalgh ordered Conover to continue to be held without bail pending a probable cause hearing on March 25. Conover — who appeared by video conference — reportedly told the court: “I will eviscerate every single person with my intelligence right now.” He also accused local jail staff of treating him “like an animal” and was heard reciting the Lord’s Prayer with curse words mingled in, the Daily Sun reports.

So a bit of a shock I mentioned in the politics thread is that a Democrat won a state seat election in a very red (Trump + 15) district.

Before we celebrate too much about some kind of complete turnaround this was a special election, and the GOP candidate was "polarizing" to put it mildly. His inflammatory rhetoric was troublesome even to Republicans and his campaign literature seemed to list his major accomplishment being yelling about a Drag Queen story hour in Lancaster (which may have led to bomb threats). He also was infamous for being a jerkass to fellow Republicans in the region and trying to play power-broker. Other than that he seemed to just think being "the Republican" was enough for an easy victory. He ignored a voter forum that was attended by the Democratic and Libertarian candidates. It seems while Republicans did not vote for the Democratic candidate, they did decide to not vote for the Republican.
