LIHOP / MIHOP... truthers want to have their cake and eat it too

Yet I've seen numerous cases of twoofers making LIHOP claims as well as MIHOP claims and being certain of an inside job.

How about criminal incompetence, calls for accountability, and investigation into obstruction of justice?

What well established theories? Pancakes? Diesel fuel fed fires? Mystery fighter planes over the Atlantic?

We might be wrong to think that the multitude of warnings our Government received prior to 9/11 should have caused people within the Bush Administration to warn the American public, and take precautions to make sure the attacks didn't succeed.

We might be wrong to think that someone like Shyam Sunder should have met with people like Dr. Steven Jones to at least look at the information he has collected.

At the root of this conundrum is the 9/11 CTists start with the belief that the Govt. is at fault and work back from there. Exactly what happened and how aren't so important as them simply saying the Govt. did it.

Jon Gold plays the game of not pushing any particular theory, but then he'll say Phillip Zelikow belongs in jail. I'll always remember how Gold got on Opie & Anthony back in 2004 and when they gave him a chance to explain his theory, he started out with this bizarre bit about how Osama's brother was running some sort of marriage scam where Americans would marry Saudi women, or something. Unfortunately, Opie and Anthony didn't let him finish, so I never heard how this tied into 9-11; I would have loved hearing that part.

This is purely hypothetical...

There are many truthers who believe that Osama bin Laden was/is a CIA/MI6/Mossad asset. If Osama bin Laden was actually a CIA/MI6/Mossad Asset, it is possible that the few people at the top (USA/UK/Israel) could have instructed him to order an attack on the United States and carry it out. They would probably know the details of what was going to happen more or less.

The people at the top of the US Government would have to prevent those below them from stumbling onto the plot. Deliberately ignoring what was in motion would obviously be vital, what idiot who was engaging in such a horrible act would actually try and expose what would be going on? They'd be sinking themselves in the process.

So they'd act as if they didn't take any of these reports seriously, any that actually were made. They would also want to misdirect the hell out of the FBI and such below so they wouldn't stumble onto too much anyway otherwise it would become readily apparent. Those who do stumble onto anything are told that it isn't to be taken seriously, told to drop it, and fired if they won't stop.

This of course would be in conflict with many truther claims. For one the planes would have actually have had to have been been hijacked if this hypothetical were correct, and actually have had to have been flown into buildings. The damage would have actually have caused the collapses of Towers 1 and 2.

An agnostic "round-earther" is pretty tough to find, too. But hey, if it makes you feel better, keep pretending that the reason most people here reject 9/11 conspiracy theories is because of a lack of open-mindedness.

I'm rather perplexed that the lack of those on-the-fence here is seen as a sign of weakness in our position. This makes no sense.

If there truly are no people left undecided, this suggests one of two things: Either the Truth Movement's argumentation failed utterly to connect with them, and they're not interested at all; or the Truth Movement had their shot, and our debunking efforts were completely successful.

I lean toward the first one, personally. There have been quite a few people turned back from the Truth Movement, and to them we can probably credit our work here, but I believe the vast majority simply realized they had no case on first contact, and never bothered to look into it in more detail.

This is what happens when you don't have a hypothesis, guys.
