This is useful, I was clearly mistaken about what I believed until Bill Thompson set it straight here.
 
Well, IMO both major parties contain a certain number of reprobates, and there have been numerous beat-downs on Reps,conservatives and Tea-Partiers in this forum. It's hard to see how this first Liberal beat-down is in any way unfair.


Among Lib statements I've seen that are indigestible ....

Criticizing the policies of a Black President is necessarily racist. (A Eugene Robinson & Chris Matthews classic)

That an anti-Black blanket statement by a White person is racist, but a comparable statement by a Black against a Whites is not.

That the purpose of government is to protect the rights of minorities instead of the rights of all. (from this forum).

That the purpose of gun ownership 2nd amendment is for hunting or skeet shooting.
therefore no one needs an XXX weapon.

That Biden is competent to be President.

That "compromise" and "negotiating" involves the President dictating outcomes to Congress while bashing & insulting them at every turn.

That "general welfare" in the Constitution its indistinguishable from the specific welfare of certain party(ies).

That a central government planner can allocate resources better than 100 million individual decision makers.

That free-market medical care has failed (therefore we need Obamacare), tho' we haven't actually had close to FM-Medicine in six decades.

That massive Federal debt doesn't matter, cuz' Krugman said so.

That married heteros' are given special privileges, therefore to make things fair we should give another group (married homosexuals) the same special privileges. So two privileged sub-groups are fairer than one to the Liberal mind ??? [Nevermind that they are scr*wing the singles, celibates, polyamorous].

That the word "fair" is a meaningful description of anything beyond personal preference, as in "the wealthy should pay a fair share".

I knew some pretty out there feminist activists back in college but I don't think I ever ran into this notion.

oh and Monty1 actually did accuse the USA as being the big baddie behind the gassing of the Kurds. I'm not sure if he counts though.

WMD was certainly a reason, cited both in the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1441 and in the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002. It was also one of the main points the Bush Administration used to sell the idea of imminent threat to the American people.

Looks like a straw man but it's difficult to parse. Liberals want to allow all adults (humans) who have the capacity to consent to be able to marry the person they love. That's somehow a special right. I guess. Kinda like when they gave blacks the special right to marry whites.
