Rational in the context of GIGO is irrelevant. The claims in that link are:
1) there's an ancient supernatural being either using or controlling Soros
2) Soros was involved in the Vegas "false flag" which:
- 2.5- presupposes that the Vegas shooting was a false flag in the first place
So, the answer to your question: "What do you dispute from the wackiest claims you posted?" is: every single bit of it from the link you addressed, link 3.
Fair enough.
Depends on if you consider things like public education part of the American Dream.
This is beginning to address the core of what I'm getting at. "The American Dream" is an emotional phrase; it doesn't represent any actual guarantees of anything. Rational people can disagree on exactly how public education is carried out, for example. They can disagree on whether or not healthcare should be a right. The problem is that neither side takes the time to listen to the other on the actual issues. Instead, we address them by using emotional terms like: "Soros is in league with Satan! The Kochs are evil!"
It's always put into terms that if you don't agree with me, you must be evil. Don't want Single-Payer Universal Healthcare? You want to kill poor people! Don't want to increase taxes? You hate libraries!
In my mind, this kind of rhetoric is much more insidious and much more harmful to the national dialogue than the obviously insane crap like, "Soros was involved in the Las Vegas false flag operation!"
They want to prevent library upgrades and defund existing public libraries. What else do you make of this successful campaign...
No, they don't want to raise a tax rate and have the government go into debt in order to do it. You can have nice libraries without having to raise taxes, you know. My town did it by renovating an old Wal-Mart into one of the best libraries in the country. So it's a bit disingenuous to say that the Kochs hate libraries; it's taxes they hate.
Objectively true? No, it's a spin on what happened. AFP teamed up with locals who didn't want a tax rate increase to fight the measure. There was already local opposition; it isn't as if it was all fine and dandy and about to pass until the Kochs and their evil robots spoiled the day.
This is not at all on par with claims of Soros being controlled by Satan and involved in government false flag spree killings.
On that, we agree. I do see that crazier stuff is said about Soros, so I'll concede that point. But my larger point is that the crazy stuff is easily dismissed and no one really believes that except for some kooks. Much more insidious is the less-crazy emotional spin put on the actions of our political opponents instead of addressing the actual issues. One can oppose increased taxes or support abortion rights without being the embodiment of evil.
