Apparently then, you, Empress, knew about the pain and anguish to come resulting from having to read over 100 pages of this manure before popping into morality and yet chose to soldier on anyway. You go girl!! :)

:D:D:D

Damn that veil over our Pre-Mortal existence, anyway!

Because she has nothing else. Often, one will see this as a result of desperation, when one has nothing else to cling to.

Or, more accurately, because she thinks she has nothing else. One thing that struck me after I let go of my faith was how little my life actually changed. I still had the same friends and loved ones, the same sense of right and wrong, the same sense of wonder and joy in the face of the universe we inhabit.

I don't think David Ben-Arial (spelling?) was ever a member of this forum.

But if anyone here remembers him from other places, he was a lot like Janadele.

A gay man, when he discovered he had AIDS he hid in a rather weird Christian cult, and AFAIK -aside from ONE reference to enjoying Janis Joplin- never posted anything but preaching and Bible verses 'til the day he entered hospice.

While the virus and the illnesses it led to destroyed his body, religion ate his brains, his character and his personality.:(

Yes, but Mr Smith had a unique papyri. Granted it was only unique in the parts that were missing that he had to fill in. I mean this is Elkenah who does not a jackal head like Anubis and he is holding some kind of cut-throat razor (or a feather?) to sacrifice the poor figure who is definitely Abraham.

Nice work, RandFan. The comparison with the complete document really drives home the blatant "creative license" Smith took in his complete ignorance of ancient Egyptian culture with this document.

Sacred matters require Spiritual understanding, and do not follow the laws of mortality, nor are they to be discussed lightly nor irreverently. Our Heavenly Father is the father of both the Spiritual body and the mortal body of Jesus Christ.

James E. Talmage writes:
"Mary's promised Son was to be "The Only Begotten" of the Father in the flesh; so it had been both positively and abundantly predicted. True, the event was unprecedented; true also it has never been paralleled; but that the virgin birth would be unique was as truly essential to the fulfillment of prophecy as that it should occur at all. That Child to be born of Mary was begotten of Elohim, the Eternal Father, not in violation of natural law but in accordance with a higher manifestation thereof; and, the offspring from that association of supreme sanctity, celestial Sireship, and pure though mortal maternity, was of right to be called the "Son of the Highest." In His nature would be combined the powers of Godhood with the capacity and possibilities of mortality; and this through the ordinary operation of the fundamental law of heredity, declared of God, demonstrated by science, and admitted by philosophy, that living beings shall propagate--after their kind. The Child Jesus was to inherit the physical, mental, and spiritual traits, tendencies, and powers that characterized His parents--one immortal and glorified--God, the other human--woman."

So God just makes up his version of morality (I assume that you are talking about "morality, and not "mortality"} as he goes along, and the rest of us just have to guess what it is from day to day, depending on whether your god has had a bad hair day or not.

Got it!

Have you got any comments on the pictures of Facsimile One that RandFan posted, Janadele. They are just pictures so they can't be anti-Mormon propaganda. Just the plain facts of the matter staring back at you. This is pretty embarrassing stuff for your church so I will understand if you prefer to just ignore it and go on posting scripture.

No, she actually does mean mortality. That's Mormon for "life on earth". So basically she's saying "yeah, I realize Jesus having no father makes no sense from a biological standpoint, but that's what my church says, so that's what I believe and I refuse to question it, no matter how moronic I know it really is."

It is only non believers who have no understanding and little knowledge of Spiritual matters who have reason to be embarrassed.

As already posted many times The Book of Abraham is official Scripture and therefore official Doctrine of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

And it doesn't bother you in the slightest that it can be clearly shown to be a fabrication?
