KSM Conspiracy Charges Analyzed and Debunked

Yes they do. I went road drinking over 10,000 times, and never got into an accident. I never got a DWI unless I was over .22

But a sober driver almost killed my mom and criplled my dad. Sober drivers are potential killers.

I find your 'i am a great drunk driver' attitude disgusting and immature.

The reality of drunk driving.

Those are other drunk drivers, not me.

My parents were both almost killed by a sober driver. In fact, 80% of all traffic deaths arwe caused by sober drivers.

You should not cast stones, unless you are without sin, as our Lord Jesus said.

PS

I ususally drive sober.

How are those drunk drivers different than you? I thought you said you hadn't had a drink in 6 years?

drunk drivers who get in accidents are much more dangerous than drunk drivers who don't get in accidents.

BIG DIFFERENCE

BIG DIFFERENCE

You realize they call them "accidents" not "purposes".
The reason it's an accident is cause no one planned for it to happen.

Reminds me of guys in my business. I catch them doing dumb things (working under a machine on only a jack supporting it, working under improperly hoisted machines, etc) and they all say "I've been doing this for 30 years and nothing has happened". I remind them that their odds are running out and that they're probably due. I also say that if (god forbid) something happens, this will be the last conversation they'll ever think of.

Great News!!

This article just got posted on the front pages of http://www.rense.com/ and http://whatreallyhappened.com/

Rense ranks # 1823 for web traffic in the US, while Whatreallyhappened ranks at # 5723:

http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/rense.com

http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/whatreallyhappened.com
Two web sites which publish exclusively dumbed down news for the anti-intellectual audience who eat up the dirt dumb articles and repeat them without thinking. With Time and Newsweek you have to be careful, with these dirt dumb web sites, you are usually guaranteed the articles are pure junk.
These two web sites' goal is not to spread truth, but to gain wealth. Poor whatreallyhappened has to beg for money, and hope the education system fails; so does Rense; a smart audience will doom these web sites.

Its on the JREF forum, too.

In a thread started by a guy who brags openly about attempting to commit 2nd degree murder:

To constitute depraved indifference, the defendant's conduct must be 'so wanton, so deficient in a moral sense of concern, so lacking in regard for the life or lives of others, and so blameworthy as to warrant the same criminal liability as that which the law imposes upon a person who intentionally causes a crime. Depraved indifference focuses on the risk created by the defendant’s conduct, not the injuries actually resulting.

In one case, People v Register, 60 NY2d 273, 469 NYS2d 599 (1983),while exploring the meaning of "depraved indifference recklessness" the Court of Appeals ruled that intoxication is not a defense or excuse to "depraved mind murder," although it may be to intentional murder. Its analysis started with distinguishing reckless manslaughter from the "depraved indifference recklessness" necessary for murder:

"to bring defendant’s conduct within the murder statute, the People were required to establish also that defendant’s act was imminently dangerous and presented a very high risk of death to others and that it was committed under circumstances which evidenced a wanton indifference to human life or a depravity of mind. . . . . The crime differs from intentional murder in that it results not from a specific, conscious intent to cause death, but from an indifference to or disregard of the risks attending defendant’s conduct."

This whole drunk driving thing is sort of a derail and I don't agree with a lot of what Galileo seems to endorse on this topic.

But I will say I never believed in the Drunk Driving Setup Stops. You know, where they just randomly pull people over at some road block setup? I got stopped at one of these once coming home from the midnight shift and although I wasn't drinking I was arrested for a supposed warrant for a unpaid parking ticket. I sat in the can the rest of the night. I did nothing wrong. And it wasn't even a ticket I got. It was someone I knew who used my car and got a ticket that they never told me about and never paid. No notice in the mail nothing. It was for parking to close to the corner.

And what if I was drinking but driving perfectly fine? If I'm swerving, or I get in an accident, or even if I just get pulled over for a tail light out, and it's discovered that I'm drinking that's one thing. But to just randomly pull people over and interrogate them is not something I am for.

If they are going to do these road blocks why not just setup outside any bar with a parking lot?

In fact, why do bars have parking lots at all? Are they really just for the designated drivers?

What's this got to do with KSM anyway?

Wrong. You parked illegally and then failed to pay the fine.

And what if I was drinking but driving perfectly fine?

What if you were firing an assault rifle through the front window of a daycare center? Children are short, just aim high and no one will get hurt... right?

If they are going to do these road blocks why not just setup outside any bar with a parking lot?

Because then the drunks will just park a block away.

In fact, why do bars have parking lots at all?

They keep bar patrons from from parking on the street

What's this got to do with KSM anyway?

This thread was never about KSM.

The cops at the roadblock are not the arbiters of the validity of the warrant. They simply execute them. If you had an issue with it you should have contested it in court.....and never let the offending person borrow your car again.

And what if I was drinking but driving perfectly fine?

If you're drunk how do you know you're "driving perfectly fine?" Even if you were that doesn't mean it's legal. It's illegal for a very good reason and one person who could drive just fine drunk does not erase that.

If I'm swerving, or I get in an accident, or even if I just get pulled over for a tail light out, and it's discovered that I'm drinking that's one thing. But to just randomly pull people over and interrogate them is not something I am for.

Why not? You have no right to the road or it's use. Driving on it is a privilege and with that privilege comes certain requirements and responsibilities. Submitting to those roadblocks is one of them.

I have seen a lot of batcrap crazy ideas from the truthers, but their defense of drunk driving on the "It's OK if I drive drunk but don't hurt anybody" basis is right up there with the craziest.
Back in the early 80's when I heard a few Libertarian types mouth this crap, it was one of the major factors that made my career as a Libertarian very short.
