Can't we have a sex scandal instead? They're much more entertaining, and provide much-needed material to comedians.

Truely. Then our European friends can join in with their sophisticated and superior attitude and add to the general merriment.

My guess is the Kerry campaign will just lump this guy in with the SBVT, call him a partisan, accuse the Bush campaign of being behind him, and point to reports written by people trying to get out of the warzone as being more credible.

Yup, that's the ball game. There's no point in denying it.

Since Bush already has it wrapped up, there is absolutely no reason for Bush supporters to waste their time going to the polls in November.

Am I the only one who finds the whole swift boat debate extremely insipid?

As I stated in another thread We have real issues and problems to worry about So I think insipid is an understatement.

Kerry seems to have some Jewish blood in his family history, I'm surprised Falwell, Shuler et.al. haven't resurrected the blood libels. Ya that's the way to go!

I'm afraid Politics has become a blood sport devoid of meaningful content............Bread and Circuces........Bread and Circuses.

edit to add : Read "Marching Morons, by CM Kornbluth." It's dated but still suprizingly relevent.

Damn straight. This swift boat crap is taking us away from the investigation into whether or not Bush was AWOL. It causes us to loose focus of Bush's IQ, the fact that he looks like a chimp, his malapropisms, his failure as an oil man, his trading of Sammy Sosa, his poorly behaved daughters, etc.

We really need to get back to the important issues. Sheesh.

Nope. BUt both sides will continue to focus on it because it makes a good diversion from real issues.

Prehaps You missed my post . Here it is in toto.

Till: "You know the tragedy in all this? It's a presidential race and people from both sides are focusing on the credibility and voracity of near and hearsay witnesses.
What we should be discussing is Social Security, Medicare, the deficit , jobs, outsourcing, the infrastructure, government funded medical research, military spending and acquisition,Taxes, loopholes in the tax code that let's some company's worth ( and thruputing ) billions of dollars not pay taxes. I'm sure you can think of many more. So which is more important a war that is being fought as we "speak" and a 500 billion deficit or whether Kerry got his 1st PH from shrapnel from a RPG? Especially when there is such disagreement amongest the principles in that incident."

I expect that your are either pushing Your position or answering some other poster.

Are we interested in the truth, or something else?

False dichotomy. It could be that I'm just trying to be a jerk.

Good point. Clearly, the SBVfT were a Dem plot in anticipation of this scandal, to preemtively discredit this type of attack. It's a conspiracy I tell you, a conspiracy!

You made the claim that this would be the "final nail". He was expressing sarcasm.

What's truth got to do with it?

Article by ROBERT NOVAK SUN-TIMES COLUMNIST aka the walking rectum that outed a CIA agent.

This basically seals Kerry's fate. Funny how political pundits are slow to recognize how damaging this whole thing is.
Novak is a sleazeball with no credibility anymore. How does his article damage anybody?

Has this been posted here?

Now the Navy disputes aspects of Kerry's medals...

Link

I don't think it's big but it doesn't help and it's just weird.

I'm no Novak fan, never have been, but I don't think your "Novak = false" allegation is necessarily true.

After all, that guys wife really had been an undercover CIA operative in the past.

And no, he isn't sleaze for "outing" her. This subject has been thoroughly gone over and as it turns it, her and her husband are borderline traitors who tried to cover up weapons dealing in Niger.

Perhaps you didn't hear that since it would be embarassing to the people who paraded them as martyrs like Vanity Fair and the dissident bloggers and websites who hailed the incident as "Karl Rove destroying someone".

It's a big mistake to overstate your case. It's even a bigger mistake to do so in a skeptics forum. I don't agree with Gary.
