Kamala Harris Election Campaign

They planned for something like Trump - an individual person with a cultish personality that appeals to the populace on an emotional level. They didn't plan for the way the parties have gained power as non-governmental agencies that effectively control policy.

And if you think that the power exerted by the parties as entities is limited to the GOP, well, I can't help you with that.

Like what NGO's? Boeing? Chevron? Koch Industries?

Yesterday, I was listening to some "pundits"* say that Kamala Harris needs to give the public more specifics on her plans. Meanwhile, The Orange Blob can **** in a paper bag and put in on voters' doorsteps and light it on fire, and millions cheer. Having a thought of a concept of a plan, and being able to breathe, is good enough for them.

* Definition of "pundit": Person who gets paid ridiculous money to pull **** out of their ass and call it wisdom.

I have a get-Rish-scheme. Drinking a lot of carrot juice lately my urine is quite orange. I'll sell it to him and he can sell it to his MAGA folks by the teaspoon, claiming it to be his. He has already sold them crap.

Yeah, I literally brought up the parties in the post you quoted.

Seriously though, I don't give a hot **** about your bothsidesing, or "centrist but totally always defend everything the GOP does for some reason" nonsense. Save it for someone that still buys it.

They aren't even close. It's not even in the ballpark between the two parties. It's laughable that you "centrists" keep equating the two as if it's not a false equivalence that's been pointed to "centrists" repeatedly for the last 8 years.

He's lying when he says he's thinking of a concept of a plan. He doesn't even do that much.

Kamala’s speech in Las Vegas was a masterpiece. It was everything that Trump isn’t. I haven’t heard a better US campaign speech since Obama.

It's a majority. It's democracy. The result is a government that doesn't govern. Let them pass the bills. If the people hate them they will throw them out.
:rolleyes:Which presupposes people see where the blame belongs, and doesn't allow for potentially years of failure of government.

The good old Your're Another fallacy.
I note you dodged the question of power in the hands of an unelected bureaucracy.
 Oh good grief.....
I see *you* have dodged the matter of a political party supported by a minority of the populace inn control. Again.

I donated to the Harris campaign and as a result I receive a couple dozen email solicitations daily. Some from her, some from Waltz, some from DNC, occasionally from Obama and others. (See, I'm important!) Today I received one from ... drum roll ... Anthony Scaramucci. :D

Dems might have just remembered Florida existed.

Saw my first actual "I am Kamala Harris and I approve this Message" ad, leaning heavily into the abortion thing (Florida has a big abortion amendment to its constitution on the ballad this year)

There was a Family Guy scene a few years back where Peter and Lois are trading increasingly escalating threats at each other one of them was "I'm going to make one political donation using your email address so you'll be screwed for life."

There is no more core, distilled explanation of the Republican mentality then their "Bothsidesism" having devolved to the point Democrats have to be perfect before Republicans are even expected to to do anything.

I genuinely don't feel like playing this stupid game.

You mean "Does Emily know what she's talking about?" I can see why you don't want to play. You tend to lose.

How about you explain what the role and power of the judicial branch is? That would be awesome.

Do you mean the role the Constitution assigns them or the role they assumed for themselves?

Then you can proceed to enlighten us all on how your view plays into the actual decisions and work that SCOTUS actually does and has been doing since its inception.

My view is based in fact, so it really isn't a matter of if my view plays.

You know, like actually opining on the constitutionality of laws... something they've been doing since the beginning.

Except, you're wrong.

But hey, it doesn't use exactly the words you're looking for, and doesn't give you a glossary, and the government page describing the role of the court system doesn't cut it for you.

You try to fall back on the text of the Constitution and why the judiciary was created. It's not my fault you're wrong.

Sometimes I would really like to just have a decent, reasonable, and intelligent conversation without having someone get wrapped up in inane and pointless gotchas that don't contribute anything except frustration.

Have you tried being better informed? Putting more thought into the position you are taking and how you articulate it?

I don't even donate to the national party. I put my money and time to local issues and occasionally a close race in another district. I still get flooded with those emails.

It's getting really annoying how often the core of discussions here are boiling down to "I think it is super unfair that you get to be right just because you know what you are talking about, aren't repeating things which have already been disproved a thousand times, and aren't wrong about everything. It really is unfair, you shouldn't be able to use that in a discussion, it doesn't give the other side a chance."

Yes, yes we get it. Minority skin colors should be represented so long as they subscribe to the majority's Correct Thought. Majority skin colors that dissent from your Correct Thought should have no voice or protection in your "liberal democracy". Let alone be the government from time to time.

Roe, Roe, Roe v Wade,
Has gone down the stream,
Sadly, sadly, saldy,
To abort is but a dream.
