John Edward vs Sylvia Browne (Question for Robert S. Lancaster)

Re: John Edward vs Sylvia Browne

I reckon Sylvia by two submissions to a pin fall, but it would probably be a pretty close match.

I see that Lancaster will not answer me.

RSL is not in the habit, in my experience, of not answering people, though I do recall it was you who made the especially vile comment that his stroke was due to some bad karma on his part, so I wouldn't blame him if he didn't.

On the other hand, he asked you in another thread:

"By the way, are you still claiming that Sylvia Browne is your mum?"

and you didn't answer him either.

He did answer your question. According to http://www.stopsylvia.com/faq/

Q: Why Sylvia Browne instead of some other psychic?

A: Because examining the claims of a well-known psychic will help far more people than say, examining the claims of my neighborhood palm-reader.

Also, due to her books and her many television appearances, there is a wealth of material to use when researching her claims.

Finally, I found her work with missing children to be incredibly offensive. That was the last straw which made me choose her as the focus of this site.

Since that, in this thread, Robert (before his stroke) planned a website for Edward.

Meet The New Boss...... Same As The Old Boss!

I see that Lancaster will not answer me.

I'm kind of psychic myself and I think I can read Mr. Lancaster's mind. Bear with me I'm seeing a "G"...."t", no "e" or maybe an "i"...then.... "t"..."S" ..."t"...."u".... humm the spirits are unclear it's either an "f" or a "p" and some other letters but I'm sure it ends with a "d". I'm too drained right now to figure it out (feigns collapse hand out stretched for payment).

At any rate using my normal powers of deduction I'd go to links below and read the faq. Now it's all your choice so no more crying OK never let it be said skeptics aren't accommodating :p

So when Bernie Madoff takes people's money with lies it's a "mistake".

I think he meant that Madoff's mistake was in getting caught. Otherwise, he was just another poor schlub making a living, like psychicuk working at McDonald's.

I would like to know the reason why Robert S. Lancaster put up a site to stop Sylvia Browne yet why would you not do the same for John Edward or any other well known psychics.
My site's FAQ page answers why I started the site about Sylvia rather than some other psychic. Since starting it, I announced that I have plans for both StopJohnEdward.com and StopJamesVanPraagh.com, but my recent health issues have put those sites temporarily on hold.

I hope you continue on your road to recovery, and I hope to see StopJohnEdward and StopJamesVanPraagh someday in the future. I remember that "Crossing Over" show, and can sadly recall how the majority of people I worked with at the time believed John Edward had super powers. I'm sure if he ever "toured" through my hometown he made a mint, and that saddens me.

I didn't notice the thread until now. Had you PM'd me the question, you would have gtten my answer much quicker. Yes, PMs can be used for other purposes than advertising your "readings" and attempting to spread Malware!

Did you know "gullable" does not appear in the dictionary?

Well, I learned something today.

Not that the word doesn't appear, but that this is an alternate spelling of it which I had never seen before. Actually, the above does not appear in my paperback Random House Dictionary, but it is shown as a variant in the online Merriam-Webster Dictionary.

So, my smarmy, pedantic retort is nipped in the bud!

so what about the rumors that Sylvia and her son are atheists? I've seen that now at 4 sites. She's a "demon" (though if are a demon doesn't that mean you ARE religious?) who dubes "gullable" people out of their money and does so knowing there is no God for her to answer to when she dies.

It's an interesting new take on her, and Sylvia should be more worried about THAT rumor making the rounds of churches than little old JREF site.

I have received many emails from former fans of Browne saying "She must not believe in God, or she wouldn't be doing what she does to people."

Ok what do you call a person who says they believe in God, but in fact do not? I think it would be wrong to call them an atheist. It demeans atheists. A closet atheist maybe?

Let me ask you a question psychicuk;

Why do you need to ask RSL a question?

In fact why do you need to ask anyone a question?

Aren't you (drum roll) psychic?

yeah all the atheists I know would NOT do what Sylvia does. But then again, maybe she is some closet atheist that is evil...you know a lot of Xians are pretty horrible, and I bet the odd Buddhist kicks puppies.

Still, the skuttlebutt is she's really living her life like she has no morals and no God but money.
