John Edward - Help needed

So I'm wondering if JE is a knowing fraud or if he actually thinks he's psychic.

I'm sort of leaning towards the delusional side. I mean how could he sleep with himself otherwise. And as Chillzero could probably attest too, once you start getting positive feedback from those you read, you start to believe you may have actual super powers. And he's been doing this for so long.

Not to condone him or anything, I think he's the biggest pompous a$$ and douche bag there is. Just curious as to what he really thinks about himself.

I used to think that, but then I saw this transcript which in which he was so clearly manipulating people that I thought he must know what he's doing.

I saw ACA promoting this last night - they refered to Edwards as "the worlds most successful psychic" and said something like "see why Australia has a love affair with him". What BS.

It's not looking good.

Good job, Richard! You made a couple of emotional comments to balance out your rational approach. Too bad you weren't allowed to point out the contradictions in John Edward's statements. He says he recieves 'mind pictures and feelings', but later, he's claims he's getting something that sound like 'joseph, james, jack, ...', a standard trick of cold reading. It was nice of Current Affair to edit that part of John Edward's show along with your comments on his use of the technique.
 
I though John Edward was pretty evasive and non-specific in his answers, just what I'd expect from a good con man. He doesn't pretend to have all the answers like Sylvia Browne does. Watch her this clip:

As much as I dislike John Edward, I have to admit he does look good, if you compare him to Sylvia.

These shows are pro-whatever-the-adverisers-don't-object-to. It varies from day to day.

Having said that, the reporter in this case seems to be on the side of "Us". He and I will be attending the Sydney MindBodySpirit Festival in a couple of weeks and he wants it to be a day of poking fun at industrial-strength woowoo.
