That consciousness (as we know it) depends on both a brain and a body has been shown in countless ways.

Think about brain lesions. Drugs. Head-injury.

Think about the evidence from brain imaging. Pet scans. MRI, etc.

So, what's Jesus going to do? Perform an autopsy on my brain, and say:

"No go. This one's Abbie Normal."

Why does my (in any case fictional) placement in Heaven have to do with whether I accept Christ? What about being a good person?

Where's the cut-off, anyway?

None of this Heaven stuff makes any sense, except as some parable about life as we live it--heaven is right here--in some sense.

They say Heaven is a place where nothing ever happens. Me, I don't have to go anywhere for that. I already live in the suburbs.

Anyone with half a brain knows death is part of life, again denial does not help anyones intelligence or preparation for death. So if you want to be foolish and pretend you won;t die, so be it. Your choice. if you want to put all your marbles on you just becoming nothing and dirt, so be it.

But if I were you, I would get serious rather than foolish and rather than being in denial. But again, the GOOD LORD gives you choice, and you must try to use your much neglected brain. Thanks, Cosmos and do come down to Earth

Actually Joobz, as usual you have everything backwards, but neveretheless let me answer your question, as you and your buddies are being SELF RIGHTEOUS and thinking you know it all or there is nothing to KNOW.

I on the other hand am saying SELF RIGHTEOUSNESS as displayed by the majority HERE will not help, as you obviously aren;t gods and obviously can;t create anything or even figure anything out, as your whole religion is believing in nothing and hoping there is NOTHING.

My perspective is the opposite, the Creator knows everythign, created everything and is the ONLY ONE that is righteous.

So there, you stand corrected, even though the majority want to go it alone on their own SELF RIGHTEOUS WAYS.

So when Jesus talked about The LEAVEN of the Scribes and Pharisees, He was talking about their Holiness Doctrine, their hypocrisy in pretending to be righteous.

For their religion is based on law and not on His Righteousness. They believed in their own righteousness and therefore could not accept the Messiah, and could not accept Jesus. Their doctrine was self-righteousness. that is absolutely opposed to the Lord's doctrine that "ONLY HE is Righteous" This is why the Scribes and Pharisees separated them selves from communing with Jesus and any they deemed unrighteous like the tax collectors, and prostitutes and common folks.

This is why Jesus had such righteous indignation against them in Mathew 23. And this is why, the Scribes and Pharisees and great majority of church people fulfill Isaiah 65..... My comments will be in (...)
