It's time for a Ted Cruz thread.

It's time for a Ted Cruz thread!

I agree, so let's rip out his guts and make one out of them!!!!!

A small clean-up. Please keep your personal feelings about one another out of threads in this section. Once again: the topic is not each other.
Replying to this modbox in thread will be off topic  Posted By: Darat

Unfortunately, he really did say that. Creepy dude!

Speaking of that. I realized that in the past 25 years of my life, there has not been one single person I wanted to punch in the face. I mean I hate Dick Cheney and blame him for the deaths of hundreds of US armed forces. But he was ready to quickly make tough decisions and he really thought he was helping secure the country. I have no desire to punch GW Bush. But again, we knew what we were getting when the country voted for him.

But for some reason, I want to punch Ted Cruz in the face.1
Mostly the feeling comes when he is sanctimoniously bragging about himself, his faith, or his family. Or when he does his little smirk with an expression that seems to convey "I'm the smartest person in the room and can you believe what I have to put up with?" Or when he is being creepy. Or when is his telling his outlandish lies (e.g. Hillary wants to remove crosses in cemeteries).

It is so strange to have this desire. Obviously I would never try to act on it. I expect to spend the next for years without coming within 100 miles of him. Also, violence is not an appropriate response to political discourse. But I still have that feeling of wanting it.

.............
(1) The USSS performs a difficult task every year. They have to identify every threat made against the president (or presidential candidates) and then decide what level of investigation is needed. So now I am wondering two things. Is an actual USSS agent reading this? And is that agent thinking, "can I get an Amen for punching Ted Cruz in the face?"

You are not alone...

I'd put this in the same category as all the other word-flubs candidates have made over the years after this many months of campaigning. Especially in light of the many utterly wrong things he has said completely on purpose.

It's like complaining that a drunk driver who ran over a crosswalk full of puppies and nuns didn't use his turn signal.

A decent strategic choice, covering down on some of his weak spots while not contradicting his core message.
