It's time for a Ted Cruz thread.

Stephen King offers his opinion on Cruz.

Why would you expect a fiction writer to have any particular insight into politics? Stephen King doesn't. This piece tells us nothing about Cruz, all it tells us about is King's own prejudices. And those are neither interesting or newsworthy, but merely cliched.

Kind of ironic, in a way.

Stephen King knows scary and a President Cruz sounds pretty darn scary.

My vote in order:
Clinton, because she the most qualified.
Sanders if he wins because that means there is bigger movement than I currently believe there is.
Kascich because he's reasonable.

Any of the other GOP slate would ruin the country including Bush.

He knows as much as any random guy on the internet, and probably more than some.

Earlier today I read an article about GWB's campaigning for his younger, less able, more "distant" brother, and my immediate thought was, "Wow, this Dubya guy seems pretty great! He sure is refreshing and reasonable compared to the rest of the GOP field. Can't we just have him back?"

These are dark days indeed...

Cruz has been playing a TV ad that shows Donald Trump supporting abortion a number of years ago. Apparently Trump threatened a defamation suit unless the ad was stopped.

Cruz in a press conference said:
Cruz: By threatening that if we will not pull down the ad, Mr. Trump will seek immediate legal action to prevent the continued broadcast of this ad and to hold me jointly and severally liable to the fullest extent of the law for any damages resulting therefrom. You know, I have to say to Mr. Trump, you have been threatening frivolous lawsuits for your entire adult life. Even in the annals of frivolous lawsuits, this takes the cake. So Donald, I want to encourage you that if you want to file a lawsuit challenging this ad, claiming it is defamation, file the lawsuit.

It is a remarkable contention that an ad that plays video of Donald Trump speaking on national television is somehow defamation. The operative words in that ad come from Donald Trump’s own mouth.

I have to side with Cruz on this one. Trump was trying to BS the Cruz campaign and deserved to be called on his silliness.

In corporate law, I'm pretty sure they refer to what Trump is doing as "duress".

Yes to a business man this is how things work. You threaten the guys that you are trying to business with with some sort of lawsuit and then your lawyers and their lawyers get together and hammer out some sort of agreement in which you both win (or lose).

Wrong model for politics though. :(

Not quite. Trump threatened to challenge Cruz's eligibility in court unless Cruz apologized for supposedly lying.

Then again, Trump says something different every other hour so we may both be right.

Cruz is now claiming liberals want to "sandblast crosses and stars of David off headstones" and running a fake picture of Rubio shaking hands with Obama.

Can't find an immediate link for the other, heard it on CNN.

Donald Trump, in a stopped-clock moment, is absolutely correct about Cruz being the biggest liar. Hey Ted, how did that go about "false witness"?

ETA: Ok, here you go on the photoshop thing.

This is the part I don't understand, Cruz is unabashed about using deceitful tactics. He halfway apologized for telling voters Carson had dropped out, called it a mistake. But he proudly owns the photoshopped image of Rubio shaking Obama's hand.

Someone really should ask him about that False Witness Commandment at the next debate or town hall. I'm sure he'll dance around the photoshopping with some excuse or another, but still I'd like someone to bring it up.

Tha was last week. This week it is about Ted Cruz's TV ad showing Trump.

Then again, Trump says something different every other hour so we may both be right.

Left-handed handshake?

I somewhat agree with your list with a minor modification:

Sanders, because I agree with his policies and I trust him to do the right thing for the people, not the corporations.
Clinton, because God Forbid anyone of the Republican clown car gets into the oval office.
Kaschich because he's reasonable. (but clearly also insane).
