Istanbul airport attack

CNN: Of the three suicide bombers in the Istanbul airport attack, two of them were at the international terminal, and the third terrorist was in the nearby parking lot, a Turkish official tells CNN. All three detonated suicide vests.

As I recall Baptists once sacked a city in Germany. It had to be retaken by Papal troops. Lots of people died in the battle and the Baptist leaders were tortured to death in public.

Got anything like that in this century?

Shocked there isn't already a thread on this.

Been on the news for a couple of hours now.
Yes God forbid people have a life outside of JREF.

The only good news here is the POFSs who did it are dead. The bad news is they breed like cockroaches. Which is a valid analogy in other ways too.

Right on!

A moment of silence for all the airports bombed by Baptists. For all those murdered in malls by Methodists. For all those executed by Episcopalians. For all those bored witless by Jehovah’s Witnesses.

There are plenty of other religions who have fringe groups like ISIS, or Al-shabab, or Al-Quaida, or boko haram.
That's what I'm talkin bout.

Danged extremist Christians! Why just the other day I heard where some of them actually go around and......gasp.......knock on people's doors! :jaw-dropp The humanity!

It was three suicide bombers. That's more suicide bombers than there were in the entire of 2015 from groups that weren't radical Islamists.

So yeah, almost certainly ISIS. No one else has the capacity to pull such attacks.

I think the biggest unknown right now is how this will change Turkish foreign policy.

I don't see how, but will wait for people better versed in Turkish politics. If it turns out to be Kurds (most unlikely) the reaction will be violent. If not, I can't see the Turks doing much different. They have maintained their secular status since the establishment of the country (as I recall) and will not surrender this.

Unless evidence surfaces the attackers had help from Moscow or something like that, probably not significantly.

Sacked? The straight-up took it over.
The Baptists then used new media technology (printing press) to distribute their message far and wide in an effort to draw in fighters to the city of Munster.
Inside the city "heretics" were terrorised and executed.
Then a coalition formed to fight the revolt. They surrounded the city and after a while managed to break the resistance.

It reminds me of a recent situation in the Middle East. Can't quite put my finger on it.

Well Al Qaeda once did. Of course we have kind of made them yesterday's news.
