Shocked there isn't already a thread on this.

Been on the news for a couple of hours now. Since ISIS is losing territory could this be another gasp from them?

Surely it was just a "lone wolf" or "workplace violence" or an evil, scumbag, racist, bigot, anti-health care, throw grandma and all of the poor off the cliff right winger. It couldn't be from the religion of peace.

I'm watching this on CNN right now. They're reporting 3 shooter/suicide bombers, 28 dead, and 70 injured so far. No claims of responsibility yet. Awful stuff.

Your snark aside, people have died because of an extremist wing of a religion. Extremists of every religion do this ****. It's not specific to Islam

Right on!

A moment of silence for all the airports bombed by Baptists. For all those murdered in malls by Methodists. For all those executed by Episcopalians. For all those bored witless by Jehovah’s Witnesses.

There are plenty of other religions who have fringe groups like ISIS, or Al-shabab, or Al-Quaida, or boko haram.

Not so much in Istanbul; all of the recent attacks there have been attributed either to Islamic State terrorist groups or to the PKK.

As I recall Baptists once sacked a city in Germany. It had to be retaken by Papal troops. Lots of people died in the battle and the Baptist leaders were tortured to death in public.

ISIS seems to be gasping a lot in the last year or so.

A couple of years ago the itinerary of a cruise I booked was changed from Egypt to Istanbul for safety reasons. Lately Istanbul has become far more dangerous. Turkey, as a secular state, is extremely important to the region. ISIS will continue to attack it, sadly.

Reports are now there at least 50 dead.

Turkey security is pointing the finger at ISIS rather than Kurds or others.

According to a news alert I got it is 31 confirmed dead, correcting earlier reports of 50.

Fair enough. I was listening to a radio report from a reporter on the spot. It wouldn't surprise if the death toll increases, as it did in Paris (but not Orlando).

The death toll in Orlando definitely increased. The first press conference the police gave put the death toll at around 20.

Okay, I'm not arguing. When the news got to Australia the toll was 50 and stayed that way.
No worries just trying to be accurate.

I happened to see the first press conference for Orlando live. Then I went to sleep and woke up to find the death toll had increased greatly.

JV team strikes again. I'd hate to see the V team in action.
You snark about me bringing Trump into this then make a comment that is clearly intended to be an attack on Obama. Something Trump hasn't even done yet.

How laughably pathetic.
