You seem genuine enough so I'll just correct the basics.
The thought first struck me several years ago when I was doing a some research online, and found out the federal reserve was a private company.
The Federal Reserve is a quasi government agency. The member banks of the Fed are private corporations but the board is a government agency with the governor appointed by the government. The member banks all receive 6% dividends on the stock they are mandated to purhase in the Federal Reserve system. Regardless of how much "profit" the Fed makes these banks do not earn any more than the 6% on the stock they own. All Fed "profits" are returned to the Treasury, minus expenses.
So, I began to do some research. Did you know the American government is in trillions of dollars of debt and continues to borrow more money?
The Fed facilitates this process, it does not create it. If there was no central bank the government could still take out massive loans.
Did you know it is impossible to get out of debt in a system which borrows money from a private federal reserve with interest attached.
This is completely wrong. You pay off national debt by cutting expenditure or raising taxes. The government pays nothing to the Fed (except expenses) in order for the Fed to operate.
Did you know your taxes go directly to the federal reserve bank and not the United states government?
I have no idea where you got this from. Taxes go to taxation agencies, such as the IRS or ATO. And again, the Fed
is the US government.
The federal reserve bank has been loaning taxpayers dollars in the trillions to foreign countries for years now.
The Fed made a profit of $45 billion in 2009. More than 90% of which was given to other parts of the government.
They answer to no one, have never been audited, and control the nations stock markets, industries, media and wealth.
Central banks influence economic areas because
that's what they're supposed to do (I won't bother with your assertion about the media, as it is completely laughable). A central bank's role is to influence the price of money and the amount of money in the supply, maintain stability in prices and foreign exchange, and act as a lender of last resort. It is the government's tool for directing the economy. Poorly directed on occasion perhaps, but that's economics for you.
The people have been manipulated and lied too! This won't be news to a forum of this magnitude, but the average person on the street has no inclination! All i ask is one thing, watch the two presentations that follow and write a critique of the material therein.
The Money Masters is a well-known piece of garbage and I doubt anyone here has the time or inclination to bother with it or its ilk.
I do sincerely hope i get some good honest feed back from people who have genuinely watched the presentations, and not just knee jerked reactions.
With all due respect most of us had encountered this type of paranoid fantasy regarding central banking well before you created this thread. I would suggest not wasting your time with conspiracy nonsense and learn how this stuff actually works.
